There were over 40 athletes who rose in the rankings, and over 15 moved up in the Top 50. Any jump in the rankings, whether it is one spot or 100 spots, is impressive. Let’s break down the stock risers in the Top 50 of the 2024 rankings update.
Reese is an explosive 6’3″ middle blocker and a Kansas commit. She has a high reach and an impactful swing. She moved from being ranked 7th overall in the class of 2024 to 4th, a huge jump to make. Reese is the type of athlete that will continue to make strides throughout the next year and a half and have an immediate impact at the collegiate level.
Wow, has Sophia exploded onto the scene. In our updated rankings she jumped from 10th to 7th. Sophia was a key athlete in DSHA’s division 1 state championship title this year and earned All Tournament Team and Second Team All State honors for her efforts. Sophia is a 6’0″ six-rotation pin hitter who is lethal on either pin. She played right side at DSHA and was nearly unstoppable.
Paige made a huge jump in the rankings from 47th into the top 20 athletes in the state. She is smart and savvy on the court. As a six-rotation pin Paige gets a lot of touches on the ball. She utilizes every touch she gets to better the ball and earn points for her team. Paige is equally as valuable on defense and serve receive as she is on offense. She is a well-rounded athlete with a high volleyball IQ and great court awareness.
Highlights
Emily is an athlete who has improved every time I have seen her play. At this point in these athlete’s careers we have seen many play numerous times, and Emily is an athlete I have had the opportunity to see play since she was at the 14s level. She bumped from 26th to 24th in this ranking update. She is a hard-working athlete that is always working on her game. Emily runs the court well and is a leader for her team.
Kaitlyn was incredibly impressive at the Wisconsin Top 250 Expo. It has been awhile since I have seen her play and she caught my eye very early on. She was outgoing, aggressive, and worked well with whoever was next to her at the moment. She moved up one spot to being ranked 26th. Kaitlyn is scrappy and aggressive on defense and also covers well. She plays very high-level serve receive and is a natural leader on the court.
Highlights
Madison is a 6’1″ right side hitter who has exploded onto the scene in the last year. She earned several awards including FRCC Player of the Year and 1st Team All State honors. Madison is explosive and impactful. She is an athlete you can rely on to earn points for your team.
Ava is another athlete who really impressed at the Top 250 Expo. She is consistent, gritty, and impactful on the court. She is a setter you want running your team. She moved from 31st to 29th in the rankings. Ava has great court awareness and moves the ball around very well. She has good fundamentals and is smart with her sets.
Brooklyn jumped 6 spots in the rankings and it is very well-deserved. She is a very athletic and fast middle blocker with a high ceiling. Brooklyn in impactful and explosive on offense. She has a variety of shots and huge power at the net. She also gets a lot of touches on the block. She is a key player on offense and defense for every team she plays on.
Highlights
Ellery is another athlete I have had the opportunity to play numerous times including twice this fall already, once at the state tournament and again at our WI Top 250 Expo. She consistently impresses me no matter if I see her on the court in a State Championship match or next to athletes she has never played with at the Expo. She brings her best game every time she steps on the court. Ellery is a fierce defender in the back row and one of the best liberos in this class. She jumped from 41st to 34th in our updated rankings.
Kelsey is an explosive 6-rotation pin who is versatile and athletic on the court. She is athletic and manufactures points from the front and back row. Kelsey moved up to 35th in the rankings from 48th. She had a huge high school season and has impressed time and time again when she is on the court. Kelsey is a UW-Green Bay commit.
Diane is an athlete who jumped from the Watch List right into the top 40. She is a 6’2″ middle blocker committed to UW-Green Bay. Diane puts up a massive block and has great movement across the court. She is powerful and patient at the net. Diane makes big plays and has huge potential for success at the college level.
Olivia is a 6’3″ middle who is committed to UW-Green Bay. Olivia is a top-level commit who jumped from 79th to 41st in our rankings. She was impactful at the WIAA State Tournament, where she helped her team win a Division 2 state title. Olivia is a very talented blocker and earns points on offense as well.
Claudia is a small but impactful right-side hitter. Don’t underestimate her ability to rip a ball over or through a block. She is smart, explosive, and incredibly talented. Claudia can also play six rotations and is an asset on defense and serve-receive. Her versatility and discipline make her very valuable as an athlete and a go-to hitter on the court. She jumped from being ranked 61st to 44th in the class of 2024.
Highlights
Mariah is an impressive and athletic setter who bumped up two spots in the rankings. She was a key player for Xavier’s Division 2 State Championship this year and was named to the all-tournament team. She is a disciplined athlete with good fundamentals and great court awareness. She utilizes all of her hitters and puts a good tempo on the ball.
