This past weekend a ton of great talent gathered in the city of San Antonio to compete in a fantastic tournament that was dubbed the 210 Countdown City Classic that was held by both San Antonio Force and Alamo Volleyball. It was a wonderful event that housed some amazing competition from around the Lone Star Region. There were tons of teams from the Rio Grand Valley area, Central Texas, and the Houston area as well. I was in action covering the event over the two days and would like to share some players who stood out to me in a series of articles. Without further ado let’s meet some of the standouts.
Henley Anderson Henley Anderson 6'4" | OH Dripping Springs | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-2 Outside (HS: Dripping Springs/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Henley is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. Everyone who has watched this youngster play knows that she will be ranked once they come out. She plays high school volleyball at Dripping Springs High School and club for Austin Performance. Henley has gained national attention from every college program in the country and there is a huge reason why…she is a flat out stud. Some publications have her listed as the top recruit in the country and after I watched her play in person, I could see why. Her ability to score the volleyball is quite unmatched in her graduating class from what I can see. She was turning heads with every attempt in warm up and during each match as she unleashed some serious bombs. I loved both how fast her arm swing was but more importantly how awesome her hand contact was on each attempt to control the ball. The most interesting fact was how well she is able to run her routes at such a fast pace in their offensive scheme. This reason is why I am very high on her and chose her to be a standout for this tournament. Stay tuned for more on Miss Anderson this season.
Sophia Bojorquez Sophia Bojorquez 5'0" | DS/L Brownsville | 2027 TX [2026] 5-3 Libero (HS: McAllen/Club: Texas Fierce Elite/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sophia is currently an unranked prospect according to the 2026 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She is a stud libero that plays for Texas Fierce Elite and made me stop and watch the moment I saw her team. This young lady has all of the skills necessary to make any coach stop and take notice. I was on my way to watch another team and their players when I noticed this player lay out for a ball that was way outside of her range. Immediately I sat down and couldn’t take my eyes off of what I saw in her play. Normal spectators will comment on her speed and her ability to lay out for a ball with emergency techniques, but I noticed even more. Coaches will love how she keeps command of her posture while moving to the ball, during contact and even after contact. Her serve was extremely impressive as it was super low to the tape and very consistent. I was lucky enough to sit behind her team’s area and was watching to see if she was hitting the zone’s that her coach was giving her during serving. I can attest that her serves were pinpoint accurate and absolutely stifling to her opponents. She will be for sure one of the top liberos in her grad class as we will be watching her career very closely.
Macey Hughes Macey Hughes 6'1" | RS Cornerstone Christian | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-1 Right Side (HS: Cornerstone Christian/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Macey is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because she just came onto my radar after transferring from Oregon to Texas this past high school season. Miss Hughes plays at Cornerstone Christian High School and also for the famed Alamo club program. The highly skilled lefty has been a great addition to the reigning USAV Open National Champion Alamo 16 Premier team. They gained an immediate scoring threat on the right pin that some say they lacked last season with her addition to the roster. She has been ranked as the #1 right side and #4 overall player by our Prep Dig Oregon team and I cannot wait to update ours in a few weeks. When I stopped by their court to watch them compete, she was a sight to see for sure. She throttled the ball down the line and I was hooked on watching her ball out for the remainder of the match. I loved her presence and energy that she played with and think she definitely do her part to keep this team competitive nationally. She is for sure a show-stopper at the net and everyone should know her name as a top recruit.
