Athletes have come out of the gate fast, helping their teams to early season success, with many on new club teams or playing in new positions. Here is an early season look at prospects that have started strong in Power League so far.
Burchak is a 2024 prospect playing for the Space Needle 17 team this club season. A left-handed opposite with a good vertical, she has a cannon of an arm and does not get cheated when she cuts it loose. She has been a consistent scorer in the early season, and SNVF has been using her out of the back row to give the offensive attack further options. She has played setter, and you can see that in her ball skills and overall defensive game. The SNVF squad has aggressive outsides in Mariah Young and Madyn Cervellera, both from North Creek- Burchak is a perfect right side to balance the front line.
NPJ 16 was one of the top finishers in the PSR Power League qualifier and had an excellent top-five finish at Matt Hartner in Eugene. Wright is looking super dynamic at the setter spot, jump-setting everything and keeping the tempo fast for her talented attackers. She is using the pipe from different spots on the court, and NPJ has the hitters that can convert from the back row. Wright has enough size to attack at the net and mixes in a smart dump when the team needs it.

The Shockwave 15 team was one of the top 15U teams at the Matt Hartner memorial Classic in Eugene. Vladimiroff is a gritty defender already as a freshman, she has a good sense of where to play opposing attackers and will get on the ground to make a play. She is willing to spread the ball around as a setter, making the effort to push it to the pin and find her talented right sides with on target backsets. She has a strong frame and can compete at the net, Vladimiroff has a great chance to grow as a player along with the entire team this season.
Destiny Mars
Destiny Mars
Mars has the excellent length you love to see in a middle blocker, and she showed the versatility to attack from either pin throughout the school season for Timberlake. Ah her freshman year progressed, she was a larger part of the Timberlake attack, and that has carried over to her club season thus far. Quick off her feet both as an attacker and a blocker, running a fast tempo middle attack allows Mars a maximum scoring chance. She dropped in several soft tips right over the top for kills, showing off her growing offensive game.
Mossburg is going to give you everything she has on every play, its all out all the time for this fiery libero from Glacier Peak. It is fun to watch how hard she celebrates for a teammates kill or block, she brings the energy for her SNVF team. After hard fought 3 set losses in the first two matches of the day at the PSR Power League seeding day, she helped rally SNVF to two wins over 18U squads. Mossburg is very good in serve receive, she is special when chasing down a tip or getting on the floor for a spectacular dig.

Carissa Zwiefelhofer
Carissa Zwiefelhofer
Playing of an excellent NPJ 16 Seattle squad, Zwiefelhofer is excelling from the opposite position. Also a setter, she has the athleticism to attack from the back row and puts up an excellent block against opposing outside hitters. NPJ is very tough when she is at the service line, she is balanced and in good position on defense, and digs attacks easily with her hands when needed. The added dimension she adds as a back-row attacker out of the 5-1 set gives her team another legitimate threat when the setter is in the front row.
Jocelyn Gaca
Jocelyn Gaca
Gaca is designated as a right side, however, she played the libero spot at times for Hanford this season, and is shining as a left-back defender for Shockwave 15. She is extremely quick to the ball and covers a tremendous amount of court. Her serve is flat and deep, it seems to get into the body of the defenders causing problems for the other team’s in system offense. Several long runs have been started with her at the service line and playing all-out defense in the back row.

Naipo has strong hands as a blocker and is developing a hard, cross-court swing that she uses to score. She has good vision, finding the seam in the block with her attacks. She can adjust to a set and still find the court with her shots, forcing the opposing team to play defense. Her accurate, heavy arm swing is her best weapon right now.
