About Tessa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a fierce competitor and love to learn and win. I also love the comradery that I build with my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When it comes to play, I’m focused on my job and my part to contribute to the team. I have fun in the competition. I practice just as hard to be ready to compete; I never miss a practice or am goofing off in practice.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of my high school’s ASB as a senior officer and am a part of the LINK crew at Glacier PeakHS. Examples of events I’ve led while being a part of ASB and LINK crew is Senior Mothers Tea and the winter pep assembly in addition to many other events where I’ve helped.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m dedicated to my community; in addition to the activities I’ve done with LINK crew and ASB, I volunteer to do the scorebook and lines at Valley View middle school that feeds into Glacier Peak, I’ve done yard work at Glacier Peak, and over all I’m a student that my community can depend on in whatever way in which they need me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’m beginning to face some challenges in the fields that I’d like to pursue as a career; either construction management or architecture. These fields tend to be male dominated, however, I’m passionate about design and leadership and am prepared to face some hardships due to my gender. I feel as though volleyball has taught me the skills in hard work and leadership to prepare me for this journey.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has construction management or architecture as a degree choice and shares the same mentality of competition that I do. I am focused on my education and volleyball, as you can see through my film and volleyball awards. I am willing to work hard for my team and coaches and look forward to playing in college.

Mossburg was all over the floor, saving points and keeping rallies alive for Glacier Peak at the Crossover Classic in Spokane this weekend. The team finished second to a motivated, talented, and energetic Wenatchee squad, but traveling from the West side to finish runner-up is a great result. Mossburg is quick, agile, and terrific at covering her hitters and getting to off-speed tips and dumps that look like sure kills.

Mossberg is tough as nails on the court, and that’s a good thing at a position that demands throwing yourself on the ground over and over or stepping in front of a rocket launched by a high-flying middle at the 10″ line. Playing for SNVF, the Glacier Peak standout was tremendous this club season. Her relentless energy and effort were part of the team’s successful season overall.

Mossburg is going to post plenty of 20 dig matches this season, she started off week 1 with 21 versus Snohomish and 17 against Bishop Blanchet. Her Glacier Peak team was 2-0 in those matches, the junior libero is quick and strong and she smothers tips and dump attempts in the middle of the court.

Mossburg is going to give you everything she has on every play, its all out all the time for this fiery libero from Glacier Peak. It is fun to watch how hard she celebrates for a teammates kill or block, she brings the energy for her SNVF team. After hard fought 3 set losses in the first two matches of the day at the PSR Power League seeding day, she helped rally SNVF to two wins over 18U squads. Mossburg is very good in serve receive, she is special when chasing down a tip or getting on the floor for a spectacular dig.

She is set to have a big-time club season for SNVF, her play in the back row will be key to setting the table for the 17 White attackers.
