Powerhouse Teams to Watch at the PD Resolution – 16 Open

Some of the top talent in the state will be competing at a high level over two days of competition. Here are some powerhouse teams to watch this weekend in the 16 Open division. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>FC Elite 16 Navy </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This 16 Navy team is filled with talent led by setters [player_tooltip player_id='178227' first='Alexa' last='Hernandez'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178226' first='Madison' last='Tripp']. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='178224' first='Annika' last='Kowalski'] won a state championship with Xavier this season and was a key 6-rotation pin hitter for them. Last year the team took 2nd in the National division at USAV Nationals. Middle/right side [player_tooltip player_id='178231' first='Campbell' last='Onell'] made All-Tournament Team at nationals last year. Six-foot outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='202161' first='Kendra' last='Shimon'] and setter/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='178238' first='Ava' last='Patchett'] are new additions to this talented roster. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Sting 15 Gold</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>You can expect this Sting team to make waves this season. They are strong in every position and have a lot of experience on their roster. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='249678' first='Marlee' last='Sivak'] was a key player for Oconomowoc in their D1 State Runner-Up finish this season and stepped up big at the state tournament. [player_tooltip player_id='221048' first='Natalie' last='Surges'] has trained with the USAV National Team Development Program. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='249644' first='Brooke' last='Baldwin'] made a huge impact at the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo; she runs the court efficiently. Some new additions to the roster include pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='240999' first='Mia' last='Hudson'] and middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='249665' first='Kennedy' last='Tisdale'], both impact players on their respective varsity teams. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Wisconsin Ice 16 National</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wisconsin Ice has a number of very talented national-level teams this season. This team has two setters running the offense well and some very efficient hitters. Setters [player_tooltip player_id='178254' first='Lily' last='Shields'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178253' first='Makenna' last='Rettler'] have high volleyball IQs and run the court. Middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='180257' first='Amara' last='Beaudoin'] is efficient and manufactures points for her team. Some newcomers to the team include pins [player_tooltip player_id='178296' first='Sade' last='Partlow'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178295' first='Ari' last='Partlow'], along with foreign exchange student Marta Company-Herndandez. Setter Elise Hohenhalter has clean hands and great court awareness. Setters [player_tooltip player_id='178234' first='Grace' last='Borys'] and [player_tooltip player_id='202187' first='Alaina' last='Shimon'] are both smart setters who work hard on the court for their team. [player_tooltip player_id='178228' first='Ava' last='Reis'] is a powerful pin hitter with a huge vertical and great contact with the ball.
