However, with some new additions, the group was able to come back together and compete in a PVC jersey for most of their final club season. With many veteran PVC athletes who started with the club in 12s, the team has some serious chemistry that only comes when you play with the same group season after season. They have proven quite competitive already this season, currently 8-0 and #1 in the 18U CEVA Region (not including the Open division teams). The team will be led by established PVC coach Crystal Ayers (DeMello), who played for PVC and has coached at the club for 11 seasons. She is also the head coach at McNary High School. Assisting Ayers will be Shawna Erickson, former West Linn and PVC player.
Da Silva Corsi is another devoted PVC athlete that has been an integral part of their team’s success. Over the past seasons she has transition to a defensive role primarily. For this talented group, da Silva Corsi should take on backrow duties for Kathy Regalado Kathy Regalado 6’0″ | RS Central Catholic | 2024 OR , playing right back defense. She is incredibly effective on serve receive, helping the team stay in system for a quick sideout.
After a season with Athena 17-1 Gold last season, Keightley is back sporting a PVC jersey for her final club season. A loyal PVC athlete, she had been with the club since 12s, and as a libero since 14s. So, to see her back in a PVC jersey as a libero for her senior club season seems an incredibly fitting way for her to finish out her prep career. She is a talented libero, taking the court with confidence, anchoring the team’s backrow play. Keightley recently committed to further her volleyball career at the University of Puget Sound. The #3 defensive specialist from her class in Oregon, she is a great pick up for UPS.
After a one-season stint at OJVA on their 17-2 team, Kirkpatrick made her way back to PVC for her final club season. She is a physical middle blocker with an explosive approach. She is a definite weapon from the middle for this team. Her block is formidable, with a large reach she takes away a lot of angles on opposing attackers.
Maciag, a junior, has moved up from the PVC 16-1 team and should take on a similar role as last season as a middle blocker. She comes into the season with an impressive high school season under her belt, helping Nelson High School to a 3rd place finish in the 6A State tournament. Offensively, she is tactful, uses a multitude of shots and often utilizes the opposing block to her advantage, creating point scoring opportunities for herself.
Nielsen is an unsuspecting six-rotation outside hitter. A defensive specialist/libero turned attacker; she is a prime example of stepping up and doing what is needed to help the team succeed. Only 5’6”, she does an exceptional job with placement, hitting high and deep, and finding holes in opponents’ defense to create point-scoring opportunities for herself. Given her previous experience as a defensive specialist/libero, she is confident in her back row play. She is steady on serve receive and quick on defense.
Regaldo is a powerful right-side attacker. A left-handed hitter, she thrives on the right pin. When she connects with the ball, her swing proves deadly. With the ability to nail the ball down the line or obliterate it cross-court, Regaldo proves she can be an offensive weapon. Standing at 6 feet, she puts up a big block, shutting down a lot of dominant outside hitters.
After a season with NPJ 17-1 National last season, Semau is back sporting a PVC jersey for her final club season. A loyal PVC athlete, she had been with the club since 12s, so to see her back in a PVC jersey for her senior club season seems an incredibly fitting way for her to finish out her prep career. She has shouldered a massive offensive load for this team as a dynamic and explosive pin hitter. She proves to be a serious force to be reckoned with from both the front and back row given her impressive vertical jump and fast arm swing. Semau recently committed to further her volleyball career at the Bushnell University. As the 9th overall recruit for her class in the State this is an impressive commit for Bushnell.
After playing for Athena 16-2 Black last season, Williams returned to PVC, where she has played since 12s. A junior, she is shouldering a massive load as their primary setter, typically running a 5-1 system. With a soft touch and a quick release, Williams is a naturally gifted setter. However, her confidence on the court and her decision-making skills have improved substantially over the past year. She has blossomed into a top setter coming out of the class of 2024 from Oregon, currently, the 5th-ranked setter and the 14th overall recruit in the State.
