We are continuing our journey across the state highlighting more of the teams in the 17U division.

[program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] 17-2

We always like to give love to some of the better "twos" teams in the state and [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'] would be one of those teams. Many of these players were key contributors to their high school teams this fall. [player_tooltip player_id='119730' first='Ashlynn' last='Jaccard'] had over 200 kills for Lansing. [player_tooltip player_id='216375' first='Brynn' last='Stowell'] was key on the front line for an Olathe West team that turned many heads in 2022. [player_tooltip player_id='150074' first='Taylour' last='Standifer'] and Chloe Tyrell provide depth on the pins. Margot Randall is a player with upside who will be heading to Villanova.

Pohaku 17-1

Pohaku continues to make a name for itself as an up-and-coming program in the state. They were [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] league qualifiers this winter and have been competitive along the way. [player_tooltip player_id='119689' first='Ava' last='Martin'] holds down the setting duties for this team after helping lead Bishop Miege to a state title. They are deep on the pins with [player_tooltip player_id='119718' first='Ava' last='Spachek'], Mary Burke, and Seanne Brewer. As strong as they are on the pins, they are as good defensively behind the efforts of [player_tooltip player_id='189995' first='Sylvia' last='Bunde'], Riley Oruth, and [player_tooltip player_id='150070' first='Claire' last='Jones'].

Mavs KC 17-2

17-2 grabbed their spot in the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] league and has made a little bit of noise along the way. Like [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''], they have one of the better number two teams in the city behind the player of setters Emma Harned and Tabor Scanlon. They have a good mixture of athleticism and size in the middle with Jordan Elliot and Hannah Wooley. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='184732' first='Reese' last='Massey'] is key after grabbing 240 digs last fall for Staley. On the pins, Keliah Rivers and Faith Kratochvil make up some of their attackers.

KC Challenge 17-1

KC Challenge passed one of the earliest challenges by playing their way into the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] League after a good qualifier performance. They've had a rough go through two play dates but look to finish strong. Lanie Douglas is on this team after a good year for Blue Valley Northwest. Grain Valley's Allison Koepkey and North Kansas City defender [player_tooltip player_id='150047' first='Madelyn' last='Ottis'] are also contributors to this team. On the pin, [player_tooltip player_id='495639' first='Rayah' last='Foltz'] had over 200 kills for Eudora last fall.

Kansas Networks 17-1

The last time out this team captured a championship at the Kingdom Classic. This was after a good showing at MLK and missing an opportunity to play in the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] league. They had a tough break early by losing [player_tooltip player_id='119699' first='Zoe' last='Canfield'] to injury. This team features [player_tooltip player_id='119804' first='Brooklyn' last='Gormley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='119719' first='Taylin' last='Stallbaumer'], who have been good players for Topeka Seaman. [player_tooltip player_id='119811' first='Kinsey' last='Perine'] is a problem on the pin after totaling over 500 during her junior season. [player_tooltip player_id='216389' first='Macey' last='Jones'] earned honorable mention all-conference honors for state champion Washburn Rural.

Manhattan Mambas 17-1

The Mambas have had a good showing to start the season. They just missed qualifying for the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] league finishing one place out. Their year started with a second-place finish at the Kansas Networks opening tournament. They bounced back to go 6-3 at the MLKI tournament in Kansas City. Ava Widman showed during the high school season she can wear many hats filling up the stat sheet in the kill, digs, and assists categories. [player_tooltip player_id='173375' first='Addison' last='Budke'] has a reputation for being a scoring machine after almost 6 kills per set for Beloit this fall. Add high school teammate [player_tooltip player_id='119714' first='Mylie' last='Brown'], who averaged over three per set they have a good one-two combo on the pins
