Power ‘] 17-2
We always like to give love to some of the better “twos” teams in the state and Power ‘] would be one of those teams. Many of these players were key contributors to their high school teams this fall. Ashlynn Jaccard Ashlynn Jaccard 5'11" | MB Lansing | 2024 State KS had over 200 kills for Lansing. Brynn Stowell Brynn Stowell 6'3" | RS Olathe West | 2024 State KS was key on the front line for an Olathe West team that turned many heads in 2022. Taylour Standifer Taylour Standifer 5'9" | OH Shawnee Mission NW | 2024 State KS and Chloe Tyrell provide depth on the pins. Margot Randall is a player with upside who will be heading to Villanova.
Pohaku 17-1
Pohaku continues to make a name for itself as an up-and-coming program in the state. They were Power league qualifiers this winter and have been competitive along the way. Ava Martin Ava Martin 5'10" | S Bishop Miege | 2024 State #77 Nation KS holds down the setting duties for this team after helping lead Bishop Miege to a state title. They are deep on the pins with Ava Spachek Ava Spachek 5'11" | OH St. James Academy | 2024 State KS , Mary Burke, and Seanne Brewer. As strong as they are on the pins, they are as good defensively behind the efforts of Sylvia Bunde Sylvia Bunde 5'7" | DS/L Shawnee Mission East | 2024 State KS , Riley Oruth, and Claire Jones Claire Jones 5'9" | DS/L Blue Valley | 2024 State KS .
Mavs KC 17-2
17-2 grabbed their spot in the Power league and has made a little bit of noise along the way. Like Power , they have one of the better number two teams in the city behind the player of setters Emma Harned and Tabor Scanlon. They have a good mixture of athleticism and size in the middle with Jordan Elliot and Hannah Wooley. Defensively, Reese Massey Reese Massey 5'8" | DS/L Staley | 2024 State MO is key after grabbing 240 digs last fall for Staley. On the pins, Keliah Rivers and Faith Kratochvil make up some of their attackers.
KC Challenge 17-1
KC Challenge passed one of the earliest challenges by playing their way into the Power League after a good qualifier performance. They’ve had a rough go through two play dates but look to finish strong. Lanie Douglas is on this team after a good year for Blue Valley Northwest. Grain Valley’s Allison Koepkey and North Kansas City defender Madelyn Ottis Madelyn Ottis 5'5" | DS/L North Kansas City | 2024 State MO are also contributors to this team. On the pin, Rayah Foltz Rayah Foltz 5'9" | OH Eudora | 2024 State KS had over 200 kills for Eudora last fall.
Kansas Networks 17-1
The last time out this team captured a championship at the Kingdom Classic. This was after a good showing at MLK and missing an opportunity to play in the Power league. They had a tough break early by losing Zoe Canfield Zoe Canfield 5'9" | S Washburn Rural | 2024 State KS to injury. This team features Brooklyn Gormley Brooklyn Gormley 5'11" | MB Topeka Seaman | 2024 State KS and Taylin Stallbaumer Taylin Stallbaumer 5'6" | OH Seaman | 2024 State KS , who have been good players for Topeka Seaman. Kinsey Perine Kinsey Perine 5'6" | OH Rossville | 2024 State KS is a problem on the pin after totaling over 500 during her junior season. Macey Jones Macey Jones 5'5" | DS/L Washburn Rural | 2024 State KS earned honorable mention all-conference honors for state champion Washburn Rural.
Manhattan Mambas 17-1
The Mambas have had a good showing to start the season. They just missed qualifying for the Power league finishing one place out. Their year started with a second-place finish at the Kansas Networks opening tournament. They bounced back to go 6-3 at the MLKI tournament in Kansas City. Ava Widman showed during the high school season she can wear many hats filling up the stat sheet in the kill, digs, and assists categories. Addison Budke Addison Budke 6'0" | OH Beloit | 2025 State KS has a reputation for being a scoring machine after almost 6 kills per set for Beloit this fall. Add high school teammate Mylie Brown Mylie Brown 5'9" | OH Beloit | 2024 State KS , who averaged over three per set they have a good one-two combo on the pins
