Mid-East Qualifiers is the place to be this weekend with some of the best talent from around the country, not just the Mid-East. Weekend 1 will hold host to the 16s through 18s age group. Temps outside are calling for a chillier weekend, but the Indianapolis Convention Center is going to be RED HOT!
Let’s take a look at some of the top match-ups to watch on Day 1 of MEQs in the 16 Open Division.
Pool 7: MKE Sting vs. Volley FX
This is going to be a fun one to watch go down. MKE Sting is easily in the mix for a bid watch this coming weekend behind the arm of Madison Quest. She’s this team’s go-to arm and she goes up swinging with velocity. Across the net, Volley FX has an interesting piece to their own puzzle in Lola Sageer. Listed as a middle blocker, Sageer can play six rotations with the best of them and hit just about every shot there is to hit.
Pool 10: Michigan Elite vs. Alamo
These two teams are another pair of squads to look out for on bid watch. Michigan Elite could have easily found themselves secured at Sunshine, but a rough day two with missing pieces kept them back. Behind the arm of Isabelle Busignani and defense of McKenna Payne, this team is pretty tough to slow down. Speaking of fire power, Alamo is bringing all the heat they can, especially on the right side. Macey Hughes, the high flying, left handed banger will do all she can to drive this team to victory in this one.
Pool 12: Austin Skyline vs. Dynasty
Both of these teams had a really stellar outing at Triple Crown just a few weeks ago. They’re both well in the mix for a bid, but will have to go through each other first. Austin Skyline poses a pretty daunting threat on the pins with OPP Addison Gaido and OH Riley Certain. Dynasty runs a very clean ship and will take the entire team to pull out a victory. Emma Christian runs a well-oiled machine for Dynasty and likes to play with every option she has.
