PD Champions Cup: 20+ Players To Know From the 15s & 16s Division

There were a lot of new names this weekend who emerged at the Prep Dig Champions Cup.  Athletes from the 15s and 16s may of had a big play, a positive intangible to help their team, or over the course of the weekend had a big impact for their squad.  Here are some names to know from the 15s and 16s Division of the Champions Cup.    Makaelyn Clark - FVP G15 National    Clark showed she could do a little bit of everything this weekend enroute to a FVP 15 National championship in the 15s Division.  The freshman from Oshkosh West was a setter/right side who has great hands and a solid swing where she provides plenty of positive touches on her side of the net.  This team plays really clean volleyball.  They are solid in serve receive, provide a consistent first contact, and their attackers were highly efficient.  [player_tooltip player_id='453643' first='Brynley' last='Wunderlich'] was a top performer on the outside with a big leap and a strong swing.    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/PrepDigChris/status/1633275329572732929?s=20 </div></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='359928' first='Kathryn' last='Urban'] - I AM VBC 16 Red    Urban is a major presence for her team where she can block and score points out of the middle.  She is the type of athlete who will make the other side of the net question what type of shot they will take when her block is in front of them.  She makes a great combo with Lillian Merrow on the right side which creates two six feet plus athletes putting a big barrier up.  I AM VBC 16 Red blazed to the championship and took down Flight in two sets to claim the title.    [player_tooltip player_id='359929' first='Samya' last='Hughes'] - WI Flight 16 Black    Long and athletic, Hughes was a standout for WI Flight 16 Black out of [program_tooltip program_id='428569' first='Central' last='Wisconsin'].  She has a big time ceiling for her potential where she will cause a lot of havoc the rest of the club season and will be a standout upperclassmen for Nekoosa.  WI Flight had a lot of dynamic athletes on their team where they finished second overall to a really talented I AM VBC 16 Red team.     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/PrepDig/status/1633270822876880897?s=20 </div></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='359930' first='Sophie' last='Romenesko'] - FVP G16 National    Romenesko might not be the biggest outside hitter on the court, but she is a high flyer who packs a punch.  The sophomore from Freedom High School was a big time point scorer for her team where she could go line, cross, or tool the block to score points.  There are a lot of strong pieces to this FVP team where they are dangerous when they are in system and can keep a balanced attack. Romenesko could be set up to have a big upcoming high school season.    [player_tooltip player_id='323399' first='Allison' last='Botters'] - FVP G16 National    From Wautoma, Wisconsin - Botters has some qualities of a Wautoma volleyball legend that is Hattie Bray.  Bray was a standout at Wautoma and is currently an All Big East player for Marquette  Botters is long, athletic, and very strong as a middle blocker.  She has some flashes where she is big time at the net with her block and scoring points.  When she makes solid contact it is almost automatic for her.  She might be one college coaches need to tag because with her size and athleticism she would be a steal.  She is from the Class of 2025.    Madilynn Abbott - WI Flight 16 Black    Abbott had some really big moments at the Champions Cup out of the right side.  She's not afraid to take a big swing when things are close, where she was able to get the game winning kill to seal the deal on a 3-0 day for Flight.  Having someone who can consistently score points is so important for a team where they can really spread the front line of the defense.    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/PrepDigChris/status/1632518813655736320?s=20 </div></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='202993' first='Miley' last='Quade'] - Milwaukee Juniors 15-1   Another big time point scorer, Quade was the top outside hitter in the 15s division.  She approaches with aggression and has no fear going for a big swing.  Her skillset is very dynamic where she can pass out of the backrow and pass to attack in transition. This team plays with a lot of passion and a big kill by Quade really gets them rolling.    Sara Gonzalex Morales - Milwaukee Juniors 15-1    Gonzalex Morales is actually a foreign exchange student from Spain (We'd love a Prep Dig Espana). The libero for Milwaukee Juniors was electric with her fire and emotion she played with as well as her game play.  She can make the routine plays, handle a heavy volume of serve receive.  Her intangibles are very positive and what a great way to be involved as a foreign exchange student playing club volleyball.    [player_tooltip player_id='388594' first='Danica' last='Rosenthal'] - WI Flight 15 Black    Rosenthal is a long, athletic middle blocker for Flight where she was able to put up some big time blocks and score points herself.  For only being a 15s player, she has great awareness of the court and can command the frontline.  She gets excited for the big plays, celebrating her teammates, and is on track to become someone to watch in the Class of 2026.     [player_tooltip player_id='388458' first='Elizabeth' last='Ehlke'] - I AM VBC 15 Red   Ehlke was on fire Saturday night from the outside for I AM VBC 15 Red who turned in a dominant day one performance.
