The 4th stop had teams evenly matched for the most part, the play was intense with several clubs seeking redemption against opponents who had won head to head matches in previous weeks. Liberos were all over the court making incredible plays in the 16 Division, here are some who have been making plays throughout the 4 weekends of Power League contests.
Kora has a little more length than some liberos, and she puts it to use getting to balls that are headed for the corner, or tips that seem like they will score. The sophomore from Kentwood can throw up two hands to get a piece of a shot over her head, then lay out on the flat run to cover a roll or ball off the block. PSVBA 16 Legacy has depended on her heavily for solid serve receive and accurate passing, Kora has delivered all season.
Attackers have to truly sell a tip or roll if Duong is on the court, otherwise, she will read the play, anticipate the ball and be standing under it to make the dig. Even an excellent off-speed shot has a chance to be dug out with her quickness and fundamentally sound technique. When Duong is scrambling and has to get creative, she will reach out an one arm and pop up a pass good enough to keep the point alive.
NPJ Seattle 16 National has certain rotations when both Manaia Alefaio and Chum-Schultz are in the backline. That combination creates a frenzy of defensive action, and both athletes go all out to make jaw-dropping, point-saving plays. Chum-Shultz has excellent rapport and communication with her teammates in serve receive, the backline is organized and mix-ups are rare. We expect the 2025 prospect to have a huge year at Kentwood next season, and her team is peaking at just the right time headed into Regionals and Emerald City.rn

Maia Sidhu
Maia Sidhu
The calm and collected Sidhu made play after play in the left back, anticipating off speed shots and getting the job done in serve receive. An experienced beach player, playing hard attacks overhand comes easily, and Sidhu showed the strength to push those overhand passes on target to her setter. A 2026 prospect who attends The Bear Creek School, she played with high energy and racked up double digit digs against excellent competition.

Peschel was terrific for her Dakine 16 Surf team, the sophomore from Tahoma High School showed excellent passing and a sharp focus on the court. She reads hitters and her blockers well, sliding into a better position and reacting quickly to balls that carom off hands. Peschel showed an excellent ability to adjust her platform and put the pass on the money to keep Dakine 16 in system, and pushed through low, hard shots to save points for her team.
