While we won’t see those open division teams this weekend we will see a variety of very good volleyball happening all over the convention center. Take a look at the best pool combinations in the 15-bid division.
Pool 5 – STVA, Roots, Katy United, Texas 512
STVA 15 Mizuno will be in a battle with Roots 151 for the pool title. STVA just brings something extra to the court. They are one of the most consistent teams to date with libero Karis Carpenter heading up the serve receive. They will make very few errors, and Roots will have to have a dominant game from their power hitters like Kaitlyn Hutchins Kaitlyn Hutchins 6'0" | OH Lake Belton | 2026 State TX and Ava Carrasquillo Ava Carrasquillo 6'0" | S Vandegrift | 2026 State TX . Katy United 15 Adidas has its fair share of ball control studs with liberos Sophia Mendoza and Moriah Poe. This pool could turn out interesting if Katy United could get an upset over the 1 or 2 seed in the pool.
Pool 6 – Woodlands Rev, Valley Venom, Texstar 15, AJV Wilco
Woodlands Revolution 15 Premier already has the USA bid and Valley Venom has been a few games away from a bid all season. Major contributors for Woodlands Revolution have been middles Tori Leggiero and Natalie Kettler Natalie Kettler 6'0" | MB Tomball | 2026 TX . The team’s blocking has been a big part of its success this season. Valley Venom has 2 big playmakers at the setting position with Aleena Zuniga Aleena Zuniga 5'8" | S Sharyland Pioneer | 2026 TX and Alexie Martinez Alexie Martinez 5'4" | S Sharyland Pioneer | 2026 TX . Both know the IQ behind the position and have excellent ball distribution. Libero Juliet Trevino Juliet Trevino 5'3" | DS/L McAllen Memorial | 2026 State TX seems to always make the play on defense and keep her team in the game. Texstar is always a surprise team that can come in and upset early on because they are one of those teams that come in and plays with no fear.
