The Emerald City Classic tournament is back for its 35th year! The University of Washington hosts some of the top volleyball teams from Oregon, Washington, Canada, and northern Idaho, and PrepDig was lucky enough to see them in action.
Below are a handful of pin hitters that caught our attention over the course of the first day.
Andrews is the top recruit in the 2026 class and is the total package. She is a complete six-rotation pin with the ability to do it all. She can serve receive, play defense, swing with the best of the best, put up a solid block, and proves tough from the service line. Long and lanky, her explosive attack and whip of an arm are unstoppable.
Burchak was a steady contributor to the Space Needle 18-1 team. Playing as a six-rotation right side, she was utilized all around. A leftie, she is a natural fit to swing on the right. With some serious hops, she puts up an impressive block that shut down quite a few hitters.
Highlights
Cervellera is calm and collected. But proves absolutely lethal when she connects with the ball! She was a major offensive weapon for Space Needle today. With an aggressive approach, she can hammer away at all angles. She contributed both offensively and defensively, not seen off the court.
Davis is an offensive weapon for the CPA 17-1 team. A six-rotation outside, she is terminal from anywhere on the court. She elevates when she is attacking and with a quick arm, proves hard to stop. She sees holes in the block and the court very well to create point-scoring opportunities for herself.
Highlights
Eichert is one of the top recruits coming out of Washington for the class of 2026. A six-rotation outside hitter, she is a contributor to the team offensively and defensively. Attacking, she is high-flying, explosive, and terminal. She mixes up her swings, keeping defense on their toes. Across the backrow, she is often utilized for her attack. Seeing her play at last year’s ECC, it is really exciting to see how much development has happened in a year with Eichert!
Mia Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald is a bouncy pin hitter. She is an offensive weapon on this Rose City 15-1 team. With a quick arm and an explosive approach, when she connects with the ball, it is hard to defend. She is raw and showcases a ton of potential.
Highlights
Hangca is a high-flying right-side attacker. She is left-handed, so this is a natural fit for her, but she can swing from anywhere on the court. She made electrifying plays; when the team needed a kill, she delivered. I watched her rack up point after point to help the NPJ team come back from behind. Playing all around, she is speedy and fearless on defense.
Highlights
Kennedy is a talented 2025 six-rotation outside. Playing up an age bracket, she is confident on the court. She is powerful and smart with her attacking placement. She is really steady on serve receive, passing dimes for the setters.
For OJVA 16-1, Hill is a highly utilized offensive weapon for the team. She has a hammer of an arm that proves terminal when she connects with the ball. She has good attacking range and moves the ball around the court. Her out of system attacking was relentless, not letting up on a trickier set, and pounding away. Playing six-rotations, she is utilized to put the ball away from anywhere on the court.
Holley was a smooth six-rotation pin. With a high-flying attack, she exhibits good attacking range, and her snap on the ball proves killer. She is smart and has a high IQ on the court, seeing holes to rack up kills. On defense, she is makes solid moves to keep the ball in play.
Highlights
Merritt was exciting to watch! She does a great job waiting and exploding into her attack. She created tons of point-scoring opportunities for herself by changing her attack location a ton; swing, tip, chip, off the block, Merritt did it all. Super skilled defensively, she found a way to feed the setter the ball no matter the ball.
Highlights
Moran is long and lanky and makes for a terminal outside. She was a definite weapon for the NPJ 17–1 team. With an explosive approach and a quick arm, she can attack a multitude of angles. She puts up a big block that proves hard to swing around.
Morgan is a massive offensive weapon for OJVA 16-2. She has a big vertical jump and great attacking range. She is smart about knowing when to swing when to tip, when to utilize the block, and when to use a shot. Her ball control is solid on serve receive, and defense. She has leadership and exudes positivity on the court.

Kyles is rarely seen off the court for WVBA 16-2 and was heavily utilized all around today. Getting tons of court time against competitive teams, she seemed to improve as the day progressed. With a lot of solid abilities already, she showcases a ton of potential and will be an exciting athlete to watch develop over the next few years.
Highlights
Skagen is a well-rounded six-rotation pin for NPJ 16-1. She is utilized all around the court to terminate the ball. She is an asset in every aspect of the game with super solid serve receive and great defensive moves as well. She is a definite leader on the court. She brings a lot of competitive and positive energy to the floor.
