Prep Dig has once again renewed our partnership with USA Volleyball to run the Pre-Tournament Showcase the day before the tourney starts. It will be held at the McCormick Place Convention Center where the tourney is being held. We are going to be previewing some of the players who have signed up to participate. The one aspect that sets our showcases apart from every other one in the country is how we offer coverage, before, during, and after it is completed. Without further ado, here are a few players who you should be watching at the showcase.
Mya Cheatum Mya Cheatum 5'10" | OH Cedar Park | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-10 Outside (HS: Cedar Park/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Mya is currently ranked as the 60th best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Cedar Park High School and also plays club for Austin Juniors. Miss Cheatum has been the main point scorer for her club team this season. I was first introduced to her a the very first tournament of the year and was thoroughly impressed with her jumping ability and also her knack for scoring from any location on the court. She has an uncanny ability to create some serious top spin on the ball with amazing hand contact and a great wrist snap. She plays six rotations and can dig/pass just like a libero. Her ball control in server receive is definitely elite and keeps her team in system often. As an attacker from the left side, this young lady rises up off of the ground so effortlessly and has great hang-time. It is very difficult for opposing blockers to stay in front of her due to that hang-time. She will showcase very well for the scouts that will be on hand to watch. Stay tuned for more on Miss Cheatum!
Wynn Eaton [2026] 5-9 Setter (HS: St. John’s College/Club: East Coast Power/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Wynn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays volleyball at St. Johns College High School and club for East Coast Power Chesapeake. When I watch Miss Eaton play the setter position, I am reminded of those rare players who can truly do it all on the court. Her team can count on her to keep them in the rally in many ways. When she is in the front row, she often doubles as a hitter. When in the back row, she stifles the opposing team with a killer serve, can dig anything out of the right back zone, and distributes the ball with the best of them. As a setter, the ball comes out of her hands so smoothly and fast. She uses a lot of lift in her pin sets and this gives her hitters so much time to attack. Even when she is on the move tracking down a pass, the ball is able to find its location with ease due to her hand contact and solid release. We are looking forward to watching her in action at the showcase.
Ashtyn Werth [2026] 5-6 Libero (HS: Rockwall/Club: Madfrog ‘ last=”]’ last=”]/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ashtyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Rockwall High School and club for Madfrog ‘ last=”]’ last=”]. Miss Werth is a solid libero who shows a lot of promise while digging out of middle back. She is not afraid to go to the floor if needed and can dig balls well beyond her reach with an extended lunge. I love how easy it is for her to collapse her entire body to absorb hard driven balls. This keeps the ball on her squad’s side to run some offense. She always keeps her head on a swivel for any emergency situations that occur. Ashtyn also covers all of her hitters very well during hitter coverage and it truly adds to her team’s success. The most impressive aspect of her game is how quiet her platform is while the ball is contacting it. This will keep her relevant to any team she is on for sure. She understands how important it is to not swing her arms prior to or at the point of contact.
