The 5’8 Portwood plays bigger than her frame as a left side attacker. She elevates well and does a good job of making contact at the top of her jump that includes better range and power this season. She is a primary attacker for this team and pairs well with her counterpart on this team as they bring different, yet effective, styles to their game. This team has big potential for a deep run as they have improved their point-scoring balance around the court, which helps to free up their pins better than a season ago.
Jenna Kitchens – RS | NKYVC 15-1
Kitchens has improved the quality of her impact on the right side for this team that has consecutive seasons qualifying to the open level. She is showing more court awareness and improved mechanics that are helping to create higher contact and more power on the offensive side. She has increasingly made a bigger impact on the defensive side as well, which is area overall that has been a key factor to their success this season.

Steele has been a steady contributor on the offensive side when this group can get in system and find her. Although not the most dominating middle in terms of her physicality, she is low-error as she understands well what is available to her when she gets the opportunity to swing and can find space in the defense or challenge edges of the block well. Her contributions have been a reason why their offense has better balance and can open up good space for their pins.

Long has good athleticism adding depth for this team in both the attacking as well as passing and defensive phases. With varsity-level experience earned with her high school team this past fall during her freshman season, she creates a good floor presence in whatever role she is called upon to fulfill.

Geselbracht is the other half of capable middle duo for this team that shows a lot of promise. She brings good length on this team at 6’1 and continues to find the best success with her arm through higher and more moderate tempos that allow her to get up and reach, including overhead off of one foot. As she becomes more fluid in her footwork this will improve her relationship with her setter and increase her efficiency and impact through a true middle tempo.
