Continue ReadingUSA Jr Nationals, which will be held in Chicago at the end of June and early July, is the ultimate test to the end of the season as it will bring together all of the teams who have earned a bid to participate. These wonderful teams have proven themselves through a very long and grueling club season and will compete against other top notch teams who have earned the right to play in this prestigious tourney. We will be highlighting teams and individual players that we think you should be watching during the tourney in this series of articles. Let’s take a look at a few names to know!
Austin Performance 15 Adidas will be competing in the Open Division of USA Jr Nationals. They are from the Lone Star Region and have been competing in the Open division of national qualifiers all season long. They have a dynamic offense and have many studs on their entire roster. Here are just a few of the names to know from their talented squad.
Henley Anderson Henley Anderson 6'4" | OH Dripping Springs | 2026 State TX [2026] 6-2 Outside (HS: Dripping Springs/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Henley is currently ranked as the best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Dripping Springs High School and also plays club for Austin Performance. We have previewed this young lady a few times this year and her play is a huge reason why. She is worth the price of admission for any spectator who wants to watch a future all American before she was a star. Henley is one of the most coveted recruits in the entire nation and it is easy to see why when you watch her skill set in action. Her awesome club directors and coaches have done a wonderful job helping her to get to where she is now. When she is on a roll, it is very hard to stop her from scoring a lot of points in a hurry. They use her in the back row and that puts so much pressure on their opponents having an extra offensive threat on the court. We will be watching her very closely to see if they can go on a deep run. If this talented team does, it is very likely that Miss Anderson is on fire.
Rileigh Butler Rileigh Butler 5'3" | DS/L Moe And Gene Johnson | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-3 Libero (HS: Johnson/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Rileigh is currently ranked as the 42nd best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Johnson High School and club for the Austin Performance volleyball program. Speed at the libero position is key for any team who wants to compete at the Open level and Miss Butler is one of the best in the age group. She is a fireball of energy and she ignites their defense with her relentless pursuit of the ball. Rileigh can be seen flying all over the court if need be as she has no regard for her body when it comes to keeping the ball in play. Very little falls near her zone and her hitter coverage is top notch. Every team that goes up against AP will need to account for where she is in serve receive because she is a very tough out. I love how she is able to keep her team’s offense going by using some amazing emergency techniques also. In my opinion, she has every chance to keep moving up the rankings in the next couple of years.
Brooklyn Myers [2025] 5-10 Setter (HS: Johnson/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Brooklyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that will change next month when I update them. She plays volleyball at Johnson High School and also for the Austin Performance volleyball club program. Playing at the Open level requires some top tier ball control in order to keep aggressive swings coming at your opponent. Every true volleyball purist will tell you that championship teams are comprised of a special libero and a special setter. AP has the setter they need in Miss Myers for sure! She has been running a five-one offense all year long and can spread the ball around if she needs to. She also knows how to give her “go-to” hitters exactly the location that they need in order to bring some heat on the ball. Very rarely is she out of position when contact the second ball and this helps her accuracy stay consistent. This can be attributed to some amazing footwork that she has learned from her coaches. Give her a look and you won’t be disappointed.
