Here’s a look at ninth-graders:
Rachel Allen
Rachel Allen
Allen caught my eye early on in this event. She’s a 100-percent effort competitor that covers a lot of the court. The lefty is quick with good reaction time, allowing her to handle pace and turn it into a usable pass. Her serves shows good speed and movement.
Avery Edgington
Avery Edgington
Like Allen, Edgington stood out as a ninth-grader seasoned beyond her years. While she’s still working on the efficiency that will arrive with more reps and physical growth, she possesses the starter kit to be a key player in the Wolves’ future. She swings well from the right side and brings defensive ability all along the net.
Oskaloosa is adding a player from whom it should receive contributions the next four seasons. Harbour is a natural athlete that reaches a lot of would-be kills and turns them around smoothly to keep her squad in system. She benefits from being quick and agile.
Highlights
Emma Minteer
Emma Minteer
Minteer oozes potential as an explosive athlete with a swing that generates big power already. We should see her efficiency rise as she matures as a player through reps. If she adds height and length with age, all the better. Tiger fans should get excited for her arrival this fall.
