What a great time we had with nearly fifty athletes at our first-ever Stock Up Showcase at the Academy Volleyball Club this afternoon! Here are my top five players from today.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='288654' first='Kyla' last='Coolman'], 5-10 S, Penn

A recent transfer from Valparaiso, Kyla was a clear favorite of mine from the first time she touched a ball this afternoon. Fast feet, fast and high hands, and hyper accurate set placement set Miss Coolman apart from the field of eight setters at Academy today. I also like her defense---most setters in this class haven't mastered the defensive side of being the setter. Kyla is a great example of a plug-and-play setter that can run an offense on her own RIGHT NOW.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='152932' first='Bella' last='Dafforn'], 5-4 DS/L, Lawrence North

Quick-footed and smart, Bella was always in the right spot and the right time all day today. She already plays high-level high school and club ball, and should be more than capable of wearing the special jersey on an open-level team from now until her collegiate entrance in the fall of '25.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='152945' first='Harper' last='Holden'], 6-0 MB, Greenfield-Central

I've been high on Harper for quite some time now, but it was nice to see her put multiple balls away with many different setters feeding her the ball. Although the summer league might be a throw-away for most, Miss Holden is making the most with her teammates, and CERTAINLY made the most of her two hours in front of the evaluators. She can defend pin to pin and looks to be a big and strong M2 at the next level.

'25, [player_tooltip player_id='185478' first='Delaney' last='Steers'], 5-9 OH, Brownsburg

Schools are sometimes known for producing a certain type of next-level player. Quinci Thomas (Xavier) and Kendall Meller (Colorado) are recent reminders that Brownsburg is known for their hard-hitting pin attackers. Delaney, albeit slightly smaller, is definitely cut from that cloth, and she easily took advantage of defenses not accustomed to a different pace on the ball. This young lady hits HARD, and has the pass-to-attack drill perfected.

'26, [player_tooltip player_id='301139' first='Macie' last='Smith'], 6-0 OH, Hamilton Heights

I listed Macie as an outside, but she bombed away from both pins all day today. (Check the PrepDigIN twitter feed for a pretty impressive attack Macie had) She can pass from any position, defends and receives serve well, and plays at a more mature level than her rising sophomore age would lead us to believe. This is a prototypical pin attacker that has next-level written all over her.
