Five More Athletes I Liked At The Stock Up Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the showcases in the rearview and the high school season just around the corner, there are a wide variety of athletes still available in their respective classes. Here are five that I liked from yesterday afternoon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">'24 [player_tooltip player_id='171355' first='Aolani' last='Cannon'], 5-8 MB/RS, Lawrence North, Academy</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Although listed as a middle, Aolani looks the part of a physical right side with athleticism and jumping ability to spare. Yes, she's more than capable of putting balls away and defending the middle. If we're to project, I'd want a kid this springy and strong on a pin, and she showed her abilities to do just that yesterday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">'24 [player_tooltip player_id='394368' first='Arabella' last='Shepherd'], 5-9 OH, Perry Meridian, Circle City</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Arabella is a compact and aggressive outside that can play all the way around and uses her strong legs to get her where she's going. I liked her upper-body strength as well; she took a ton of swings on the left, and showed no fatigue throughout the two hours we had her. If anything, she got stronger as she got more comfortable with the setters she was placed with.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">'26 [player_tooltip player_id='373087' first='Madison' last='Brown'], 5-9 S, Noblesville, Academy</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Well-trained and smart, Madison placed a ton of balls exactly where they needed to go, in the tempo they needed to go. I also like her ability to defend her position. She plays bigger than her 5-9 frame would dictate and takes a first ball safely so that her libero can be accurate with the second. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">'26 [player_tooltip player_id='216341' first='Keira' last='Dommer'], 5-8 S, Concordia Lutheran, Summit</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A more offensively aggressive setter than Miss Brown, Keira even sprinkled in some quicker offensive sets for her pin players regularly. In the team play portion of yesterday, she showed out by running a fast offense, putting balls away on her own and getting to a ton of bad passes with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">'26 [player_tooltip player_id='234797' first='Evelyn' last='Kipp'], 6-0 MB, Washington, Dunes</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From way up in South Bend, Evelyn is a long and lean middle that projects to be an M2 at the next level. I like her willingness to adjust to setters and her positivity despite some early setbacks with the drills she was faced with and the opponents she was up against. A coachable, athletic middle is what you can expect from Miss Kipp moving forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
