With over 80 athletes from across Oregon and Washington gathering to compete, it was a fast-paced and high-energy filled gym. Here are the 2025 passers that caught our eye at the 2023 Oregon Stock Up Showcase.
Axmaker’s athleticism and speed shone through on Saturday. Not only was the defensive specialist consistent in her serve receive passing, but she was also quick on defense, using her fast reaction time and ability to read the hitter well to make a play off of a tough ball. She is currently ranked #82 in the state so will definitely be moving up in our next rankings update.
Azavedo is one of the most consistent, quick, and controlled passers in the region, and her steadiness from the back row was on display during the showcase. On Saturday, Azavedo was killer from the baseline with her tough jump float serve. In defense, she flew around the court to pick up balls that very few other players would be able to get a hand on.
Highlights
Comer stood out quickly during the showcase, thanks to her impressive hustle and hard work to keep the ball alive on her side whenever she could. During Four Square, Comer was not only passing consistently and with excellent technique to her partner, but she was also making smart plays to put the ball away, showing her all-around talent.
Luna was an athlete who continued to shine throughout the showcase. Luna’s movements on the court, particularly in the back row, were smooth, including her top notch defense and her quick transition to attack during Queens and Four Square. And, with a super tough jump float serve, Luna was unstoppable from the baseline.
