Reagan Hanfelt Reagan Hanfelt 6'0" | MB Ankeny | 2025 State IA – Ankeny – PowerPlex 515
Middle Blocker
I didn’t know a whole lot about Reagan Hanfelt Reagan Hanfelt 6'0" | MB Ankeny | 2025 State IA until the Iowa Top 250 in December and then seeing her over the course of the club season I saw how much better she got every time she touched the floor. She is one of the state’s top high jumpers and that athletic ability is very obvious in her game. She can run a variety of tempos and is extremely lethal off one foot. The dynamic ability she has along the front line is what sets her apart from other athletes. She will be exciting to watch at Ankeny this fall who will be looking for yet another state tournament appearance.
Sydney Maue Sydney Maue RS Mount Vernon | 2025 State IA – Center Point-Urbana – Adrenaline
Committed to Arkansas
Right Side
I saw Maue play at the Mount Vernon tournament over Labor Day last fall, again at the Iowa Top 250, and the club season she was at a whole new level. Maue is touching over ten feet on her approach and is a really tough matchup as a left handed swing on the right side. She can also come out of the middle to attack and score points. She is another one of Iowa’s top high jump athletes and her upside is scary good. She committed to play volleyball at Arkansas earlier this summer. I can see where she could have a huge high school season for CPU this upcoming fall which will be very exciting in a really loaded conference in the WAMAC.
Annalise Grant Annalise Grant 5'5" | DS/L Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA – Dowling – Six Pack
DS/Libero
Grant was coming off an injury heading into the club season and is now back and better. She had a big season for the Six Pack 17-1 squad who won a 17 National Division at USAV this past July. She will be part of a Dowling Catholic team who I think has a shot to play for a state title this fall. Grant plays with plenty of poise and maturity. She is cool, calm, and collected. She will be ready to make a statement this high school season.
Kate Passmore Kate Passmore 6'0" | MB Linn-Mar | 2025 State IA – Linn-Mar – Six Pack
MB/RS
Another big time athlete out of the middle is Kate Passmore Kate Passmore 6'0" | MB Linn-Mar | 2025 State IA who plays high school at Linn-Mar and club ball for Six Pack. Seeing her at nationals, I could really see her physicality along the front line where she doesn’t need much of an opening to terminate. She can be utilized in a variety of ways where she can attack the quick tempo out of the middle or attack off one foot. I think Linn-Mar will be a program to watch this upcoming season and a huge reason is behind the play of Passmore. She is also one plenty of colleges will have on their radar as well.
Asta Hildebrand Asta Hildebrand S Iowa City Liberty | 2025 State IA – Iowa City Liberty – Iowa Rockets
Setter
Hildebrand was an All District player in 2022 when Iowa City Liberty won it all in Class 5A. She has plenty of length and athleticism at the setter position where she can run a true 5-1. With her length, she can make a big difference at the net as a solid block along with being able to take it on her own. Liberty lost some big pieces from their 2022 team, but Hildebrand will be the leader heading into this season where she will quarterback the offense.
Clara Hoegh Clara Hoegh 5'8" | S Boyden-Hull | 2025 State IA – Boyden Hull – Kairos (SD)
Setter
Hoegh had her first year playing volleyball in Iowa where she previously played for Northern Lights in Minnesota and attending high school in the Rochester area. She had a really strong season for Kairos out of Sioux Falls, SD where they have been producing some strong college players. Hoegh is extremely well trained as a setter starting with her footwork to a smooth release and great hands. She controls the whole game where she can do it all. Boyden-Hull is in one of the top small school conferences in the state where they are consistently going toe to toe with Northwest Iowa powers.
Maci Lerseth Maci Lerseth 5'6" | DS/L Indianola | 2025 State IA – Indianola – PowerPlex 515
DS/Libero
I had seen Lerseth play before, but this club season she has reached a new level commanding the backrow. She has stood out at Prep Dig Showcases at the national level and among her club with a highly talented PowerPlex 515 squad. She has really strong platform control and does a great job of taking pace off the ball while keeping everything in system. Indianola is going to be a contender for a Class 4A state title and is loaded in the back court that also includes Brynn Bishop Brynn Bishop 5'5" | DS/L Indianola | 2024 State IA and Zoey Belt Zoey Belt 5'7" | DS/L Indianola | 2025 State IA .
Carly Wazac Carly Wazac 6'1" | RS Prairie | 2025 State IA – Cedar Rapids Prairie – Six Pack
Right Side
Wazac is another left handed right side who can terminate from the pin. She was a standout at the Iowa Top 250 and was also a key point scorer for the Six Pack 15s team. This fall she will be a go to attacker at Cedar Rapids Prairie who will be returning other top attackers in Mckenna Murray and Ryann Decker. Junior setter Taylor Ray Taylor Ray 5'9" | S Prairie | 2025 State IA had over 600 assists as a sophomore. With this combination of returners it could be a fun season for the Hawks.
Carley Jonker Carley Jonker DS/L Xavier | 2025 State IA – Xavier – Adrenaline
DS/Libero
I was able to see Jonker multiple times for her Adrenaline 16 Doug squad who had a rugged schedule against some of the top teams in the country. A really strong, all around athlete, Jonker had 200 digs on the season for Xavier who won the Class 4A state title. It was a dominant season for the Saints. Jonker will be an option for Xavier at the libero position this fall where she can really change the dynamic of a match with how she can take a hard swing and keep it in system. Xavier lost some pieces from their high powered team last year, but theres plenty left in the cupboard.
