The Texas High School season is well underway and there have been some teams that are separating themselves from the rest of the pack this season. This series will be highlighting a few of them as everyone marches through their district schedule. Let's take a closer look at who is standing out for these teams on the rise.

Lake Travis Cavaliers

The Cavs have been on a roll this year currently sitting at 30-4 on the season going into district play. In arguably one of the toughest districts in the state with the defending 6A state champs, Lake Travis is not backing down from anyone. Not when they have some serious studs across their roster. Led by six-foot two senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='177544' first='Avery' last='Hamlin'] and fellow senior outside Camden Besecker dropping bombs on everyone offensively on the pins, this offense is explosive. Then add right side super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='294264' first='Adyson' last='Davis'] who is third on the team in kills and you have a recipe for balance on offense that will make any defense tremble in fear. Six foot senior middle Kathryn Shelton has been The Great Wall for the Cav defense. She leads them in solo blocks and is a huge difference maker for their squad. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='202719' first='Kacey' last='Kazmierski'] is moving the ball around like the seasoned veteran that she is. She is on pace to have well over a thousand assists before playoffs even start. Look for this team to be battle tested and make a deep run this season.

Harlan Hawks

Coming straight out of the west side of San Antonio are these hungry and feisty Hawks who are ready to rumble with anyone. They are definitely flying high sine they busted out on the scene last year and had a wonderful season. This team thrives on many players contributing to their success. They have some of the best balance and they are DEEP in every position. [player_tooltip player_id='216322' first='Aniya' last='Joseph'] is leading the team in kills. The senior fire-baller is a dual sport athlete and is extremely athletic around the court. She knows how to tool the block like a pro and hits around the block extremely well. Super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='225200' first='DaMya' last='Mann'] is well known by us as she doubles as a setter and an attacker for their balanced offense. [player_tooltip player_id='182108' first='Thalia' last='Yancey'] showcases her athleticism all around the floor and can fly also. With liberos like [player_tooltip player_id='212735' first='Brooklyn' last='Vigil'] and [player_tooltip player_id='192043' first='Kiana' last='Souza'], this team has all of the ball control it needs in order to be devastating to any offense that tests it. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='212741' first='Isabella' last='De La Rosa'] is doing a phenomenal job distributing the ball to all of her wonderful attackers. She is leading the team in assists and plays excellent defense out of the right back zone. Senior middles Karrington Crawford and [player_tooltip player_id='227253' first='Morgan' last='Ritchie'] start the defense off right by playing solid at the net. They are 1 & 2 in blocks on the team. This squad is ready for another long playoff run and we are going to love watching it happen.

Prosper Eagles

The district 5-6A Eagles are soaring into another stellar season. They are currently 20-6 after playing a very difficult tournament schedule to start out the year. How can we talk about this team without mentioning the star of the show [player_tooltip player_id='155117' first='Ayden' last='Ames']. If you know volleyball, you know this name as she is the number one ranked player in the state of Texas. She leads the team in kills but there are some awesome players right behind her to keep the heat on any team. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='199548' first='Reese' last='Renfrow'] is a very explosive and strong outside hitter who we love at prep dig. She plays the game hard and is always smiling while doing it. Junior phenom setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='180167' first='Hannah' last='Beauford'] has been as consistent as they come over the last few years. She is not afraid of anyone and never backs down from a challenge. Super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='209429' first='Jayla' last='Jackson'] can flat out fly on the court and is very explosive with the ball offensively. Junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='202871' first='Sophie' last='Bridges'] is a ball magnet and is always set up in a great position to play the ball in the back row. Sophmore Keely Harrington is helping this squad run a great 6-2 offense with Hannah. Senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='187910' first='Sydney' last='Thornton'] is playing masterfully at the net as she leads the team in blocks and is second in hitting efficiency. It should be a tough battle with McKinney Boyd to see who will come out first in this district. We will be grabbing our popcorn and watching on the edge of our seat.
