To add to the anticipation, PrepDig was on the scene in Manhattan Beach, offering an exclusive Pre-Match Meet and Greet with the talented Sophomores on the team.

Milly McGee Milly McGee 5’10” | S State CA stands tall at 6 feet and commands the court as a skilled setter. Milly possesses a unique finesse, with beautiful hands that showcase a delicate touch on the ball. Her smile shines through as she navigates the court with confidence. Volleyball is not just a sport for Milly; it’s a part of her DNA. Immersed in the world of volleyball from a young age, Milly McGee Milly McGee 5’10” | S State CA ‘s connection to the sport is profound. Her father, Chris ‘Geeter’ McGee, not only served as the esteemed announcer for the AVP tour but also played collegiate volleyball himself. Growing up under the influence of such a seasoned figure in the volleyball community has undoubtedly shaped Milly’s passion and skill for the game. Remarkably, Milly started honing her setting skills in the third grade, and her talent is evident on the court today. Affectionately nicknamed the “Sparkle Mermaid,” this moniker originated during a practice where Milly casually mentioned it, and it stuck, adding a touch of whimsy to her already impressive volleyball journey.
Simone Roslon is a 5’11” Outside Hitter who brings an impressive array of skills to the volleyball court. Simone’s defensive prowess is showcased in her flair-filled digs, especially when handling angles with finesse. Her towering blocks and textbook press will definitely leave opponents struggling. While her Surfside Volleyball Club season is coming up next, Simone remains firmly focused on clinching victory in CIF first. Her aspirations reach even greater heights, aiming for a future in collegiate Division 1 volleyball and nurturing dreams of representing USA Volleyball at the prestigious Olympics. Affectionately known as “Sickomo,” a moniker inspired by Travis Scott’s hit song “SICKO MODE,” Simone embodies a fusion of talent and ambition.

Mia Miller Mia Miller 5’9″ | RS State CA is a radiant 5’10” Middle Blocker who brings a ray of sunshine to the volleyball court. Mia’s infectious smile is as much a part of her game as her formidable skills. With a powerful snap on the ball, Mia dominates as a force to be reckoned with. Her agility and readiness on defense make her a standout player, while her jump service is nothing short of picture-perfect. Mia’s aspirations extend beyond the high school court, as she dreams of continuing her volleyball journey in college, ideally near the beach where her passion for beach volleyball can flourish. Affectionately dubbed “beach bum” due to her profound love for the sandy shores, Mia is set to showcase her talents further after this season as she is set to play club with SCVC.

Cayenne Ceman is a dynamic 6-foot Outside Hitter whose skills on the volleyball court are nothing short of impressive. Cayenne boasts fantastic hands on the block, executing a great press that solidifies her defensive presence at the net. What sets her apart is the artistry in her approach; the back flight of her arms adds a swift momentum to her powerful swing. During the Ann Kang Invitational in Hawaii, where her team clinched their second consecutive victory, Cayenne earned the endearing nickname “Shirley” due to her habit of ordering Shirley Temples at every meal. As this season unfolds, Cayenne’s journey in volleyball will continue with Mizuno Volleyball Club, promising more exciting moments and achievements on the horizon.
Reese Stringer, a skilled 5’11” Setter whose touch on the ball is nothing short of sweet and effortless. Regardless of the pass trajectory, Reese seamlessly positions her feet under the ball, showcasing her remarkable court awareness. Her sets are a testament to her fluid release, delivered with virtually no spin. Reese’s court demeanor exudes cool and calm, adding a composed element to her team’s gameplay. Notably, during the Ann Kang Invitational in Hawaii, Reese earned the nickname – the “Hawaiian Hermit,” a title that adds a touch of flair to her already impressive volleyball persona.

Jordan Shelor is a dynamic 5’8″ Libero renowned for her exceptional communication skills on the volleyball court. Jordan’s skills extend to her impressive passing platform and defensive stance, where she ensures her feet are in constant motion, always ready for the ball. Within the team, Jordan goes by the playful nickname “Arugula,” a delightful choice derived from a fun family story. Given that her brother’s nickname is “Kale.” As this season unfolds, Jordan is set to continue her volleyball journey with SCVC, promising more exciting moments and contributions to the game from the back row.
Audrey Flanagan is a formidable 6’2″ Outside Hitter with a volleyball journey that began at the age of 8. Audrey’s presence on the court is marked by an impressive block and powerful hitting, enhanced by her forward lean into the ball. Not only is she a force at earning kills, but her blocking skills are equally commendable, thanks to her fantastic hands and a press that leaves no room for opponent tools. Affectionately known as “Demon,” a nickname earned through her fierce on-court performance, Audrey’s personality radiates beyond her competitive spirit. As she embarks on her club journey at SCVC, she’ll be joined by the same group of girls she has been playing with for the last handful of years, promising a continuation of camaraderie and shared success on the volleyball scene.
I’m eagerly anticipating my return to watch the Mira Costa Superstars step onto the court for their inaugural pool play match in the CIF Southern Section 2023 girls’ volleyball playoff bracket.
