Henning’s Lyvia Misegades Lyvia Misegades 5’11” | S Henning | 2024 State MN wrapped up a solid week two more good performances the Perham volleyball tournament.
Between the tournament her two regular season games, Misegades tallied 125 kills, 79 assists, eight service aces, 11 blocks, and 44 digs. She’s Henning’s go-to player this year and does a little bit of everything for the team from setting to hitting.
Misegades has received Park Region Conference outstanding honors three times amid her four-year varsity career as a starter. She helped Henning reach the sub section and section finals in her career.
As a setter, Miesgades does an excellent job of setting up her teammates for kills. She positions the ball for solid attack spots.
Canby’s Karlie Wollum Karlie Wollum 5’9″ | OH Canby | 2026 State MN is closing in on 500 career kills and digs this season.
Wollum notched her 485th career kill and 475th career dig last week. She also has 39 career service aces and 44 career blocks.
In weekend tournament action, Wollum stood out against bigger school competition. She tallied five kills, two digs, and seven service receptions against Stillwater. Wollum also posted five kills and four digs against Monticello.
While she excels and kills and digs, she can deliver service aces, too. Wollum places the ball well on serves, which makes it tough for the opponent to return.
Highlights
Brooklyn Kindopp Brooklyn Kindopp 5’11” | MB Canby | 2024 MN is having a standout season for Canby.
The senior middle hitter has 132 kills, 46 service aces, 28 blocks, and 46 digs. Kindopp is on pace for 400 career kills, 100 career service aces and blocks plus 200 career digs this season.
A force around the net, Kindopp jumps well and a hits the ball just right against opposing players to get the kill. She’s excellent on blocks, too, where she reacts quickly to the ball, and she sends to back to where the other team can’t get to it on time.
Holy Family’s Zoe Schule reached 1,000 career set assists this season, and she also notched the school career record for aces this season.
A team player, Schule was quick to deflect credit to her teammates when interviewed by Southwest News Media’s Brendan O’Brien about the achievement. Schule told O’Brien that “none of this would have been possible without their kills, their digs, their passes, anything”.
Schule has good delivery on kills herself with solid jump and good ball placement. She can also deliver hard hits when needed.
Overall, Schule has 29 service aces, 45 kills, 437 set assists, and 109 digs this season.
Highlights
Sonja Laaksonen Sonja Laaksonen 6’0″ | OH Holy Family | 2025 State MN broke the single-season career kill record for Holy Family this season. Laaksonen has 332 kills this year alone plus 33 service aces, 24 blocks, and 237 digs.
Her height, reach, and athleticism make her dangerous on the attack. Laaksonen place the ball well and can drill it past her opponents.
She outlasts her opponents, too, as she can handle a high volume of kill attempts successfully in a game. Laaksonen has excellent endurance as the go-to player on the attack.
