As these young athletes gain experience competing at higher levels, their skills, confidence, and overall understanding of the game continue to grow. Whether they are taking on bigger roles with their high school teams, challenging themselves against older competition, or simply putting in the work to round out their games, they are turning heads. She generates a ton of power behind her attack while also doing a great job seeing and working around the block. Barten can attack the seam, go around the block, or use her vertical to get up and over it. I have had the chance to see her a couple of times now and she impresses each and every time. She reads the ball early, moves with purpose, and doesn't waste unnecessary steps, allowing her to get into position quickly and make tough digs look routine. She also brings a strong float serve and does a great job covering her attackers, staying engaged and ready to extend rallies. She is a poised and confident attacker who isn't afraid to take big swings and brings plenty of heat with a strong arm. Schulz is also steady in serve receive and works hard defensively, giving her the tools to impact the game in all six rotations. She is quick, sees the court well, and does a great job finding open space. Lybeck also has a full toolbox offensively and understands that scoring doesn't always require the biggest swing. She can bring the heat when it is there but also knows when to mix in a well placed push or tip to score or keep the opponent out of system. She reads the attack well, does a good job working around the block, and puts herself in position to make plays. Burress isn't afraid to sacrifice her body to keep the ball off the floor and will battle for just about anything sent her way. I have primarily seen her attack from the right side where she does a great job getting off the net and giving herself enough room to work with. That spacing allows her to adjust her swing, turn the ball down the line, and attack with power when the opportunity is there.
