Top Performers
Stratford’s leading scorer for the season had another strong performance in the last match of district play, standing out as the team’s main offensive weapon. Corbeil kept her efficiency rate stable during the entire match and was excellent at using her power and explosiveness to score points while also keeping her errors very low. She scored big points in important moments and remained a big piece of the Spartans’ play from start to finish. The outside hitter was clutch at the end of set one, having a long and productive serving run that helped her team recover from a slow start and take the set.
Ashley Jones

Stratford had four different players spending time at right side during the match and Jones was easily the most impactul of them. A lefty, she had an excellent offensive night, scoring at a good rate and very rarely making mistakes, turning to tips and roll shots when she couldn’t swing. Jones displayed a very high volleyball IQ and great maturity in her shot selection, swinging hard when she had a chance and using her length and high contact point when Jersey Village’s blocking was there. She also made a big impact with her blocking, forcing opposing hitters into difficult shots and getting some stuffs.

Dunwoody was Stratford’s main blocker in the match, playing with a lot of energy and power at the net. She was reading Jersey Village’s setter very well and on very rare occasions didn’t get to the pins on time. Dunwoody had an interesting battle with Sophia Burke as the net as both middles had excellent performances. She also had some good success offensively, even hitting from the left in one rotation and scoring fairly often.
‘The Chef’ did a very good job running Stratford’s offense alongside senior Jaelyn Chen. The two were precise with their locations and kept all their hitters involved. Cook also made some interesting plays, moving hitters around and creating difficulties for Jersey Village’s blockers. The setter had some good serving runs, serving with precision and getting the opponents out of system, and also made some strong defensive plays, especially on set three. Her setter dumps were also very efficient, catching Jersey Village by surprise.
Highlights
Sophia Burke

The senior middle started the match on fire, scoring at a very good rate and forcing opposing middles to stick with her, which freed up Jersey Village’s pin hitters. Burke mixed things up very efficiently on offense, swinging with power and using some tips too, which created issues for Stratford to stop her. She also had a solid blocking performance, getting some stops and slowing down some of Stratford’s main hitters.
Elianna Freeman

Jersey Village turned to their outside hitters a lot offensively and both Freeman and senior Madi Diedrich did a good job. The junior displayed good resources to face Stratford’s big blockers and, despite getting stuffed at times, she kept swinging until the end and had a good efficiency rate. Freeman also played a key role in serve-receive, splitting the court with libero Julia Ultis, and handled the serves that went her way well for the most part, using overhand passes very well. She also created some problems for Stratford with her serving on some occasions.
