<p>The high school volleyball season is going at full pace in the state of Texas and during the next two months, hundreds of matches will be played across the Lone Star State until we know the new state champions.</p>

<p>Prep Dig will be covering multiple matches every week and featuring the players that stand out the most for their performances over the course of the season, but we'll also preview some matches that have the potential to be very interesting ones.</p>

<p>Much of the focus now is deservedly on key district matches that are going on around the state, but here's a non-district match that's definitely worth your attention:</p>

<p><strong>Cornerstone Christian vs. Dripping Springs - October 10, 6:30 PM - @ Cornerstone Christian HS</strong></p>

<p>The Cornerstone Christian Warriors from San Antonio are not part of any private high school leagues and play an independent schedule. They typically face some of the strongest programs in the country and are having great success in 2023, with 34 wins and just six losses. Cornerstone Christian have one of the strongest and deepest squads in the country, which has junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='182110' first='Megan' last='Fitch'] and senior right side [player_tooltip player_id='124114' first='Grace' last='Carroll'] as its main offensive pieces, with 415 and 243 kills, respectively. Fitch also leads the Warriors in aces (39) and passes (456), with three more than senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='194169' first='Maria' last='Avendano'], who stands out defensively with 306 digs. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='212733' first='Kaia' last='Thiele'] and senior Natalie Jackson split setting duties, having tallied 552 and 473 assists so far, while senior middle Olivia Parker is the main blocker with 68 stuffs.</p>

<p>The reigning state champions in Division 6A, Austin's Dripping Springs currently rank second in District 26 with 11 wins and one loss. The Tigers have been in excellent form all season, holding a 41-3 win record. Sophomore outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='318127' first='Henley' last='Anderson'] has been the team's leading scorer this season with 505 kills, followed by junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='179891' first='Riley' last='Certain'], with 317. Junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='314733' first='Ashley' last='Euston'] has also been a great part of Dripping Springs' efforts at the net, contributing 161 kills and 101 blocks. Senior Presley Alford, with 740 assists, and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='318138' first='Sydney' last='Lund'], with 516, give the Tigers strong options at setter. On the backcourt, senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='197077' first='Ella' last='Kuhn'], who's first in digs (411) and aces (54) and second in passes (433) behind Anderson (555) provides a lot of stability to the team.</p>
