Continue ReadingI don’t want to sound like a broken record but we are just getting started with the class of 2027. As the club season gets going, more names will be added. But this round starts with mainly players who contributed to their varsity teams as freshmen. Here are some of those players.
Gentri Bright Gentri Bright 5'8" | S St. John | 2027 State KS – St. John’s
Gentri shined bright in her first year at St. John’s. She was just shy of 700 assists, with 677 on the year. She also added 82 digs.
Sasha Cromer Sasha Cromer 5'11" | S Blue Valley West | 2027 State KS – Blue Valley West
Cromer’s stat line won’t stand out but she was phenomenal to start the year filling in for one of the top setters in the state. When filling in she tallied multiple double-digit assist outings.
Maryn Dean Maryn Dean 5'9" | S Bishop Miege | 2027 State KS – Bishop Miege
In the Miege 6-2 offense, Dean was instrumental in helping the Stags capture another state title. She assisted on 467 kills in her debut season.
Isabel Lawver Isabel Lawver 5'6" | S Shawnee Mission West | 2027 State KS – Shawnee Mission West
Lawver averaged just over 5 assists per set in her first year of high school volleyball for Shawnee Mission West. Defensively she was solid, adding 150 digs.
Tessa Nover-Estes Tessa Nover-Estes 6'0" | S Free State | 2027 State KS – Free State
The 6’1″ setter wasn’t too shabby in her first year for Lawrence Free State. She dished out 317 assists on the season.
Ashlyn Schields Ashlyn Schields S Cheylin | 2027 KS – Cheylin
Schields showed she will be a name to know for years for Cheylin after a season in which she had 515 assists and 151 digs.
Saylor Stapleton Saylor Stapleton S Meade | 2027 KS – Meade
The freshman set Meade to 29 wins in her first season of varsity action. She had 813 assists on the season. She was also third on the team with digs with well over 200.
