The likes of Campbell Flynn, the Nebraska commit out of the Detroit area was someone everyone noticed with her talent when she first started playing. Reese Messer and Logan Parks out of the Kansas City area are no secret. Messer had always played up an age group for Dynasty and was someone everyone was anticipating her college choice (she is heading to USC). Logan Parks is uncommitted, but definitely has her pick of programs. The ones listed below were ones who made a huge impact on my radar in the year 2023. They had big time club seasons and some were able to raise a state championship trophy. Here are the Class of 2025 high impact setters from 2023.
Highlights
Charlotte Glass had herself a year. The future Duke Blue Devil is among the social media stars of the game where she is ahead of the NIL game. Aside from plenty of views and follows, she had quite a year including NTDP and being part of a gnarly Class of 2025 Duke recruiting class. Her Tribe volleyball squad out of South Florida were final four finishers in 16 Open at USAV Nationals this past July. What makes Glass different is her physicality at the net where she can turn and burn with a big left handed swing. She is also a big time blocker where she can shut down an opposing outside hitter. Absolutely electric. Tribe will once again be a team to watch this season where they have plenty of high caliber athletes that includes outside hitter and Minnesota commit, Kelly Kinney.

I didn’t really see Addison Horner play a whole lot prior to 2023. She was a huge addition to the 1st Alliance 16 Gold team who was consistently one of the top teams in the country. I was familiar with this team, but when I was at Central Zone and saw the addition of Horner and libero, Aniya Warren I knew they were in for a great season. They would be the 16 Open runner-up at nationals in their backyard of Chicago. Horner is 6’2, can set, swing, she really does it all. She has given her verbal to Wisconsin who is building one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.

Hoegh is a small town Iowa kid who has hands like butter. She might not be a nationally ranked recruit, but she might be one of the top available setters in Iowa. Her location is spot on. She plays for Kairos out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota who have developed some of the top setters in the country (Bergen Reilly of Nebraska). Hoegh will be one to watch at the Northern Lights Qualifier at the end of January. She is in the heart of the Summit League and Northern Sun Conference and is also down the road from plenty of top tier NAIA programs with national runner-up Northwestern College in Orange City, IA.
Such a gritty competitor. Mogridge has quite a motor as a 5-1 setter where she was a key cog for a highly talented OTVA squad out of the Tampa. This team is always a threat in any qualifier or national tournament. This past summer, Mogridge committed to Oregon where she fits their system extremely well. Oregon also picked up Logan Bell out of Indianapolis who is a pure six rotation outside. Oregon plays with a fast tempo where Mogridge can run that tempo as a floor general and lead Oregon as they make their way into Big Ten territory.

Speaking of new conferences, Tenesyn Frye out of Idaho will be a key piece for Houston as they continue to make strides in the Big 12. I don’t get a chance to see the West Coast teams live very often and I was so impressed with Frye and her ability to lead her Idaho Crush team. She has a lot of length where she is always a threat at the net. At the high school level, she is a dominant attacker on the right side. The athletes who can show all the skills and be elite are something special.

Addison France is a 6’2 lefty setter/right side who is still uncommitted. She is an Arizona State Champion at the high school level and has led her AZ Sky team to always be a contender at the Open level. What she has in common with a lot of these other setters is how dynamic she is. She has all the skills. When the D1 live evaluation period opens on Presidents Day weekend, there will be plenty of college coaches courtside. A lefty with her skills is something that everyone could use in their gym.
Katie Quick isn’t the 6’2 lengthy setter that some of these others are. However, she’s a fireball with a ton of spark. And she is a lefty who can turn and burn as well. She is part of a really talented Iowa PowerPlex squad who is loaded with talented D1 and D2 commits. There are still plenty of 2025s who are uncommitted and will be ones coaches will taking a look at this upcoming club season. Quick was the Class 1A Player of the Year in Iowa where her team, Ankeny Christian won back to back state titles. She will take her game down the road to Drake University in Des Moines.

Kameron Blizniak is going to be a steal at the next level. She played for the 1st Alliance 16 Silver team which is the 2s team at 1st Alliance. There is so much talent on this team. Many of these athletes will be picked up by D1 and D2 teams this club season. I saw Blizniak play multiple times during this 2023 season where she had a really calm and confident court presence no matter what the situation presented.
