We have been watching the 2025 class very closely throughout the entire high school and new club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to move up in the rankings due to their individual performances.
Ayva Ostovar Ayva Ostovar 5'6" | S Mater Dei | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-6 Setter (HS: Mater Dei/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Unicersity of California at Santa Barbara)
Ayva has moved up the rankings in this update. She is now currently ranked as the 25th best overall player in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at the famed Mater Dei High School and also for the Mizuno Long Beach volleyball club program. Miss Ostovar is a great distributor of the rock. Her footwork is exceptional as she glides around the court so fast to square up and set to her attackers. I love how she plays defense out of the right back zone like a libero. This kind of defense is key for any team who wants to compete at a very high level. She keeps her eyes fixed on the prize and anticipates where the attacker will go with the ball just before they contact it. As a setter, she is pinpoint accurate and moves the ball around extremely well to all of her hitters. We loved what we saw from her since our last update and are proud to have moved her up the list. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named as one of the best volleyball players in the state of California in the 2025 class.
Taylor Deckert Taylor Deckert 5'8" | DS/L Mira Costa | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-8 Libero (HS: Mira Costa/Club: SCVC/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Taylor has moved up ten spots in the State Rankings List. She is now ranked as the 27th best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Mira Costa High School and also for the Southern California Volleyball Club program. Miss Deckert is a joy to watch in the back row and plays the game with true passion. There is a reason that she played on one of the best high school teams in the nation this season and was also one of the dig leaders in the State of California. Always keeping her weight going forward prior to the hitter contacting the ball, she has such a quick reaction toward the ball. Young players who want to get better in the libero position should be watching her and emulating her movement and technique. She has truly earned her place in the State Rankings with continued consistent high-level play. Please help us congratulate her on being named the best players in the State of California.
Saniyah Sobers Saniyah Sobers 5'6" | DS/L Redlands | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-6 Libero (HS: Redlands/Club: Rancho Valley/Verbal: Santa Clara)
Saniyah has moved up the rankings in this update! She is now currently ranked as the 41st best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Redlands High School and also for the Rancho Valley volleyball club program. Miss Sobers is one of the most athletic liberos on this prestigious list. I love how she is always balanced prior to contacting the ball with her platform. She excels on serve receive and is super fast moving toward the ball. As a defender in the back row, her teammates can block with confidence knowing that she is back there to clean up any mess that might happen. I really like how she uses her fast-twitch muscles to stop on a dime and redirect her weight to the opposite direction for deflections off of the block. Saniyah is one to watch this club season and has a great shot to keep moving up the list. Please help us congratulate her on earning a big jump in our prestigious State Rankings of California volleyball players.
