As the event quickly approaches, let’s take a look at some of the prospects who have already signed in and will be there showing their skills.
Thomas has left a strong impression in our last showcase in the summer and I also got to watch her recently at the start of the club season with Katy United. She’s long, athletic and moves extremely well on the court, which helps her on both sides of the ball and also to battle taller opponents. Her offense continues to get better as Thomas is adding new tools to her arsenal and is a very effective scorer, getting off the floor well and finding open spots on the court to swing. She also does a very good job with her blocking, seeing plays before they happen and reacting accordingly to make the stop.
Highlights
Mitchell was a good revelation with Shadow Creek in the last high school season, making it to the district’s first team as a freshman and tallying more than 300 kills and 100 digs. While her game is still a work in progress, there are signs she could develop into a high-level prospect is she continues on the same path. Mitchell is very strong offensively, getting off the floor well and using her range to score points. She also always looks very calm and relaxed on the court, which helps with her decision-making and when dealing with errors.

Naima LeBlanc
Naima LeBlanc
An outside hitter who makes the players around her better, LeBlanc stands out in the most part for her backcourt skills. She’s an outstanding passer, who’s capable of covering a lot of ground in serve-receive and free up the other players to focus on scoring. LeBlanc moves very smoothly on the court and is excellent with her ball contro. She also makes an impact when playing defense in the middle back position. Although a bit undersized, the outside hitter also holds her own at the net, finding way to beat the block or delaying her swing a little bit to tool it.
