We have some who have post season honors as well as plenty of team success. These are some of the attackers to know from the Iowa Class of 2027 Watch List.
We’re starting in Western Iowa with Melina Snoozy Melina Snoozy 5'11" | MB Bishop Heelan | 2027 IA who was a standout for Heelan this fall with just under 200 kills. She will be a top athlete to watch in this area where she is also making a huge impact for the Crusader girls basketball team where they are a ranked 3A squad. She is already on the radar for Prep Girls Hoops for Iowa and South Dakota where she is starting to receive D1 offers.

To say Sophia Austen Sophia Austen 6'1" | OH Iowa City West | 2027 IA is dynamic would be an understatement. She has shown she can attack from anywhere along the front line whether it be either pin or coming out of the middle. She was one of the top players from the Class of 2027 at the Iowa Top 250 earlier in December. After a big season for Iowa City West, she is carrying plenty of momentum heading into the club season where she will play for Iowa Rockets 15R. This team is loaded with talent and will be a frontrunner in the Iowa Region.

Don’t sleep on the Southwest Iowa athletes. Many of these athletes are heading to the Omaha area where Tess Casey will be playing for Nebraska Elite. She had a solid start to her high school career where she saw time in the varsity line up for Tri-Center Neola who finished 26-10 on the season while Casey collected nearly 100 kills.
Galloway is a physical athlete at 6’1 and can get from pin to pin to close the block. She was a key piece for Iowa City High who was a regional finalist. This past season she had 128 kills and was just shy of hitting .300. She was one of the top freshmen blockers in the state with nearly 60 total blocks on the season.
I have only seen Hoegh play at the high school level and it wouldn’t surprise me if she is a setter or libero at the club level for Kairos out of Sioux Falls, SD. She is an extremely well rounded player with a really high IQ where the game flow very naturally to her. An All District pick for Boyden-Hull, Hoegh had over 250 kills and even over 120 assists for the Comets who were state semifinalists.
To be able to start on a Class 5A powerhouse is something different. Sweers was a key contributor for Pleasant Valley who was in the final four of Class 5A this past fall. She had over 200 kills and just under 200 digs in her freshman campaign. She will play for Iowa Select 15 Mizuno who has some of the top players out of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. With continued training she will be a threat out of the back row as well, expanding her game.
One season into her high school career and she already has a state title to her name. Logan Vogt Logan Vogt 6'1" | RS Waukee Northwest | 2027 IA was one of three Vogt sisters on the team and her mom, Jodi Vogt was the head coach of the team. Logan was the right side on the squad where she has plenty of length to shut down an opposing outside hitter. She is also very terminal from both pins. Volleyball isn’t her only talent as she is a starter for the Waukee NW basketball team who has a strong nucleus of young talent.
