Other athletes might be narrowing their search down. Some might be deciding between a couple of schools. Once the club season starts and coaches can get back out recruiting, here are 15 athletes from Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin they need to take a look at. In my articles, I really try to avoid labeling athletes as to what level they should be playing. After watching some of the NAIA and NCAA D3 championships, I know those teams could beat some D1 squads. That’s no shade to any particular division, but for those athletes still searching – find your fit. Stick to the process 🙂

Reiter is the top available Class of 2025 prospect in Wisconsin and is an extremely dynamic setter. She can run the show with a 5-1 and is a presence in the front row where she can be offensive and lock it down with her block. She is accustomed to playing against high level competition and has a great all around skill set. With the combination of Reiter and another 2025 uncommitted setter, Madison Marx Madison Marx 5'7" | S Franklin | 2025 State WI the Sting 16 Gold team in 2023 was a top half open team. They will be reloading for a big 17s season where Reiter will be one to watch with her playmaking ability.

Morgan Stewart Morgan Stewart 6'1" | OH Green Bay Southwest | 2025 State WI comes out of Green Bay Southwest High School where she was the Fox River Classic Conference Co-Player of the Year. Speaking from first hand experience, I was on the other side of the net coaching against Stewart when she dropped 41 kills against us in an epic five set battle (I thought for sure she had 50). She is a big time point scorer where she can score from both pins and out of the backrow. This club season she will be playing for FC Elite 17 Navy where there are quite a few uncommitted 2025s who would be a high priority to take a look at as a college coach.

So smooth. Albers is one of those setters who can just float on the court while getting her feet to the ball and providing a smooth release. That ball looks like a beach ball for attackers who can terminate. She is also a solid defender as well. She could be a setter in any system where she holds her own in the front row where she has a high IQ when it comes to being offensive and can lock it down with a block.
Otto has been part of a rise in her high school program of Oconto Falls that isn’t too far from the Upper Michigan/Wisconsin border. She is a six rotation outside hitter who has a really strong all around skill set. This past high school season, Otto had over 400 kills and nearly 300 digs where she was an Honorable Mention All State pick in D2. She will play for One Wisconsin out of Green Bay this upcoming club season.
Geiser is electric, she is an outside hitter who could swing on the pin or be a DS at the next level where she isn’t afraid to swing hard and put a hurt on the ball. She will play for Spiketown out of Appleton (formerly Impact) and will play with plenty of returners from her team in 2023. She had nearly 300 kills and 200 digs this past high school season.
Physical and dynamic out of the middle, Beadoin is a major presence out of the middle. She was a standout for the Wisconsin Ice 16 National team last year and will be playing on the Wisconsin Ice 18s team this upcoming season. She will be ready for the challenge as her physicality is something that others will need to recognize. She was an All State Honorable Mention pick for Amherst High School.

Quast has to be high on the list for uncommitted liberos in the Class of 2025 in Illinois. She was a standout for a very talented Illini Elite team 16 Cardinal team who notched some big wins this past club season. She is scrappy, has a controlled platform, and her intangibles are super positive on the court. There will be plenty of teams to knock on door (or text her) once the club season starts rolling again!

Deacy is soaring up the radar in terms of 2025 prospects in Illinois. She was part of the Mother McAuley State Championship squad where she was a pivotal piece in the defensive scheme of the MACS with her block and was able to terminate out of serve receive on the outside and the right side in system. She is accustomed to high level training and big expectations. She would be one who is a little under the radar…for now. I think there could be big things in store for Deacy in 2024.
Ava Young Ava Young DS/L Hinsdale Central | 2025 State IL is another top libero in the state of Illinois from the Class of 2025. She has been on the Gold and Silver teams for 1st Alliance and is accustomed to high level open play. Watching her live, she plays with great composure and maturity. She anticipates well and can handle whatever is coming her way whether it’s a tough serve or a swing with some pace. This 1st Alliance Class of 2025 is ridiculously deep.

Ohlinger brings a lot of length to the setter position at 5’11 and a long wingspan. She is able to hit all of the tempos as a setter and even take it herself in the front row. She also provides a big block as well. She has a presence on the court where she can rally her squad to find the big points. This could be a big season for Ohlinger where this VC United group has some big commits and some others in the waiting.

Furlong we can group in Iowa and Illinois. She plays her club ball for Six Pack out of Cedar Falls, Iowa and preps at Galena High School in Illinois where they just won a state title. Furlong is an athlete – she makes plays. Watching her on the club courts, she plays with no fear and is willing to take a big swing. She can also serve receive, defend, and do the dirty work for her team. She will definitely have options at the next level.
Aspen Nelson has been a fun athlete to cover on the club and highs school courts the past two seasons. She has a core group surrounding her from Indianola High School just South of Des Moines that also play for PowerPlex. She was an All Tournament selection for Indianola where they were the Class 4A state runner up and was named 2nd Team All State. She is a dynamic six rotation outside hitter that can contribute in multiple ways.

Hoegh is out of Boyden-Hull High School, a small school in Northwest Iowa that is an area loaded with volleyball talent. She makes the short trip to Kairos Volleyball Club out of Sioux Falls who has produced some high level college athletes. Hoegh is another one of those setters who always finds a way to get her hands to the ball. She is silky smooth from her footwork to her release. She also has really great intangibles that coaches want in every setter.

I wasn’t familiar with Webber until the Iowa State Tournament where she kept coming up with big swings and stuff blocks for Marion High School out of the Cedar Rapids area. She brings a lot of length and a quick arm swing. She is one of those fast twitch middles who can close from pin to pin while also getting up quickly to block a quick tempo set. Her best volleyball is ahead of her.
Hildebrand is someone you need on your side of the net with how she can set, swing, and defend. She is one of the most dynamic players in her class. She was 2nd Team All State for Iowa’s largest class, prepping at Iowa City Liberty. This past season she had nearly 400 assists, over 350 kills, and nearly 300 digs. She does it all.
