The ability to adjust to a hitter’s needs while playing at a high level is tough to do, though some of the setters at the expo made it look like they had been playing with their hitters for years. Here are some stud setters who had stand-out performances at the Wisconsin Top 250 Expo.
Brooke worked well with her hitters on the court. She adjusted the speed of the sets and placement based on how the hitter was approaching. Brooke showed how dynamic she can be – especially when working with middles for the first time. She is smart and did a great job spreading the offense. Her high-level defense and ability to hit make her a huge threat on the court.

Anabelle exploded onto my radar last summer and has only continued to impress. She has a clean, quick touch on the ball and puts in huge hustle to run balls down. Her footwork is efficient and she is not afraid to take risks on her sets. She can push the ball pin to pin from nearly anywhere on the court and was a force to be reckoned with at the Top 250 Expo.

Lillian is quick across the court. She can run down balls and get her hands on them that not a lot of setters could. She also runs a fast tempo, keeping her offense moving. Her speed coupled with good form make her very effective on the court. She is an impact players that has an ability to make tough plays work.

Emma is a solid all-around setter. She plays every aspect of the game consistently. Her placement is great, even when she is on the move. Emma also plays great defense and is disciplined on running through tips she is a fun setter to watch and one who has already had a huge impact.

Kaitlyn is a setter who grew on me throughout the expo. She is a gamer who really came alive in the 6v6 portion of the expo. She is confident in setting against the grain and pulling blockers when she is on the move. She has clean hands and is tough to read during in-system plays.
Highlights
Sari has been so impressive every time I have seen her play. She is confident on the court and is always one of the first to volunteer in drills. She is a double threat, a setter, and a hitter who brings grit and massive energy to the court. Sari is already a dominant presence in this class and will be fun to watch continue to develop as she gains experience.

Sydney has always been very talented, but I felt that I saw a different side of her at the Expo. She was running fast-tempo sets and found a way to connect with every hitter. Sydney is a lefty and plays at 100% in every moment. Her vertical is impressive, and she took some great rips on the ball throughout the event. Sydney’s speed and consistency caught my eye and she has really leveled up her game since the last time I had the opportunity to see her play.

Don’t take your eyes off Addie. She is another double-threat athlete who can set and swing at a high level. Her court vision is superb, and she moves the ball around with ease. Addie can find holes in opposing defenses, whether she is setting up her team or taking the swing herself. She is dynamic and athletic with a near-infinite amount of potential.
