Continue ReadingThis is such an exciting event for us as Prep Dig scouts. This is a great way for us to get a glimpse of what we will see this club season. We are able to see the new freshmen (15s) coming in and a lot of the improvement from the athletes going from their 15s to 16s year. We will take a closer look at the 2024s and 2025s in a later article, but these athletes were gamechangers in Session 1 of the Wisconsin Prep Dig Top 250 Expo.
Gigi Chasco Gigi Chasco 5'11" | S Wisconsin Lutheran | 2027 WI – MKE Sting – Wisconsin Lutheran
Class of 2027
Chasco could do everything. She is listed as a setter which she can definitely do, but she demonstrated so many all around skills and had plenty of athleticism to go with. This past high school season she was an attacker for Wisco, and for this upcoming club season she will set and she could probably swing as well for Milwaukee Sting . She is a dynamic talent that had really positive intangibles as well.
Aubrey Frey Aubrey Frey 5'9" | OH Luxemburg-Casco | 2027 WI – FC Elite – Luxemburg-Casco
Class of 2027
Aubrey Frey Aubrey Frey 5'9" | OH Luxemburg-Casco | 2027 WI is another dynamic talent that stood out among over 100 athletes in the gym. She made serve receive look easy with such a relaxed platform. Her ability to position herself to put the ball in a position for her setter to run the show made things go smoothly on her side of the net. As an outside hitter, she knew the shots. She could go down the line, hard cross, and was always a threat out of system. She was an All-State player as a freshman at Luxemburg-Casco and will be in position to have a big club season for FC Elite 15 Navy.
Lucy Ripley Lucy Ripley 6'1" | MB Oconto Falls | 2027 WI – FC Elite – Oconto Falls
Class of 2027
A lot of length and physicality for Lucy Ripley Lucy Ripley 6'1" | MB Oconto Falls | 2027 WI who preps at Oconto Falls, a half hour north of Green Bay. At 6’1, she can move really well from side to side and has a very violent swing. She’s listed as a middle blocker, but with her dynamic ability she could swing and terminate from the right side and outside. She has a long wingspan, allowing her to get a touch on plenty of swings. She will join Frey on the FC Elite 15 Navy team who had a really strong showing at this event.
Addison Kelenic Addison Kelenic 6'2" | MB Catholic Memorial | 2027 WI – MKE Sting – Catholic Memorial
Class of 2027
Kelenic was dominant with her length along this front line. Much like Ripley, she has the length and physicality to cause a lot of havoc with her swing and block. She has a lot of power to terminate out of the middle or anywhere in the front line. She showed she could hit a variety of tempos and had a great savvy for where the set was going on the other side of the net.
Sari Marks Sari Marks 6'0" | S Sun Prairie West | 2026 State WI – Sting United – Sun Prairie
Class of 2026
So smooth. From how she receives the ball as a setter, her release looks easy, and she can put it on the money for her attackers. Her footwork to put herself in position is a result of thousands of reps. She will be one of the top 2026 setters in Wisconsin this club season – college coaches take note. She can also attack, there will be plenty of situations this club season where she can set or swing for a really talented Sting United 16 Red team who has some of the top players out of the Madison area.
Brooke Baldwin Brooke Baldwin 6'0" | S Sussex Hamilton | 2026 State WI – MKE Sting – Sussex Hamilton
Class of 2026
Baldwin was one of the best players in the gym and what is most impressive about her game is that she’s consistent and poised whether she’s playing for a 15s National Division title, the state tournament, or a Top 250 Expo. She can set, she can swing, she can defend. She is an all around player who brings so much to the court. This should be a fun season for Baldwin and her Sting 16 Gold teammates.
Addie Oeth Addie Oeth 6'1" | S Edgewood | 2026 State WI – Sting United – Edgewood
Class of 2026
Oeth and Marks are the combo that really make things “Go” for the Sting United 16 Red team. They can play opposite of each other where they can step into any position. They are volleyball players before positions because they can defend, set, and swing from anywhere on the court. Oeth has a great court sense for anticipating what’s next and to describe her as dynamic would be a huge understatement.
Vivie Dempsey Vivie Dempsey 5'11" | OH Cashton | 2026 State WI – Elevate – Cashton
Class of 2026
Dempsey is a hidden gem out of Cashton, Wisconsin – Southeast of La Crosse. At 5’11, she has the height, she has a hammer for an arm, and has a violent swing. I remember watching her at the Prep Dig Battle of the Bay this past April and she jumped out again at the Top 250 on Saturday. She swings hard, but she was also able to show she is more than a big swing. She could tool the block, go off speed, and change up her angles. She was one of plenty of athletes from Elevate VBC which consists of athletes from Southwest Wisconsin near the West Salem area. They are slated to come to some Prep Dig Events and will be ready to pack a punch.
Mia Jannazzo Mia Jannazzo 5'10" | OH Waukesha West | 2026 State WI – MKE Sting – Waukesha West
Class of 2026
So smooth. Watching Jannazzo play on the outside is like an orchestrated dance. She has textbook footwork where she gives herself plenty of room to take her final two steps very quickly accelerating into her swing. She can do this from the outside, right side, and outside. She has been nothing but lights out her whole career where she can hit a variety of shots everywhere on the court. She will be part of a very talented Sting 16 Black team who college coaches will be following along the way during the entire 2024 club season.
Emily Zgonc Emily Zgonc 5'3" | DS/L Sussex Hamilton | 2026 State WI – MKE Sting – Sussex Hamilton
Class of 2026
Zgonc is coming into this club season with plenty of momentum. She was an All Tournament Team selection for Sussex Hamilton enroute to a final four finish. We were able to see her up close and what makes her so talented. She doesn’t have wasted movement, its like the game is slowed down for her to make the efficient movement with her feet and her platform. She is another who will be on the Sting 16 Black team with Jannazzo.
Hannah Mlsna Hannah Mlsna 6'3" | MB Vel Phillips Memorial | 2026 State WI – Sting United – Madison Memorial
Class of 2026
One of the top middles in the gym, Hannah Mlsna Hannah Mlsna 6'3" | MB Vel Phillips Memorial | 2026 State WI brings the physicality to the front line where teams definitely know her presence. She has a solid block that starts with great footwork and getting her hands pressed across the net. She is able to transition and make herself available to score points. She has the smart shot making ability to swing to the corners or tip to the open spot.
Madison Mauser – Sky High – Westosha Central
Class of 2026
Mauser just keeps getting better and better each time I see her take the court. She had a breakout season for Westosha Central where she really owned the libero spot earning some post season honors. She anticipates well and has a scrappy grit to her where she can find away to get another touch. She adds another element of energy to the court that is so fun to be around.
