Maylee Glaser Maylee Glaser 5'8" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2027 WI – MKE Sting 15 Silver
I took note when Glaser went back to the service line and would seem to always score in bunches with a hard, flat serve. She was a solid six rotation outside for Sting 15 Silver. When she would enter the front row, she was a key point scorer where she wasn’t afraid to take a big rip – being aggressive and intentional. She always maintained composure and was very consistent for this squad.
Molly Harrigan Molly Harrigan S Sussex Hamilton | 2027 WI – MKE Sting 15 White
Harrigan had all the skills. She moves really well as a setter and right side where she gets her feet to the ball for a smooth release. As an attacker she could terminate on the right side or even be a secondary setter. Throughout the day there were plenty of Sting athletes who were able to show their all around ability to set or attack – so dynamic.
Bella Kaldor Bella Kaldor 5'10" | S New Berlin Eisenhower | 2027 WI – MKE Sting 15 White
Kaldor is another dynamic all around player for Sting where she has the length to be lethal at the net, but is a really smooth setter as well. She plays with great poise and composure which brings a calmness to her teammates when things could get chaotic. With her length and soft hands she will be one to watch among setters in the Class of 2027.
Brooke Johnson Brooke Johnson 5'11" | MB DC Everest | 2027 WI – FC Elite 15 Blue
“Tip To Win” – said no one. I love seeing players be aggressive and take a rip. For middle blockers that can be tough. In order for them to swing big they need a lot of variables to go right from the pass, set, and even their own footwork to get everything working. Johnson took some big swings all weekend and was very active at the net with her block. She plays with a high motor.
Stella Mulder – FC Elite 15 Blue
Mulder has some scary good potential on the outside where she is another one who isn’t afraid to swing big. She has an aggressive approach and violent arm swing where she can hammer. She also brings a lot of excitement to the court, celebrating with her teammates where she brings great energy. She preps at Wrightstown High School just South of Green Bay and will be one to watch in the Northeastern Conference.
Elsa Bloom – Elevate 15 Queen Bees
Elevate is out of the Tomah area and their teams turned in some impressive performances. One athlete that provided some spark and a big swing was Elsa Bloom of Elevate 15 Queen Bees. She was able to serve receive, defend, and provide a big swing that landed Queen Bees into the Gold Bracket.
Payton Schaefer – FC Elite 15 Black
FC Elite out of the Appleton area has added more teams to their program and their fourth team in each age group are their “Black” teams. FC Elite 15 Black finished third overall where four of their six matches went to three sets. One of the key players for this team was DS/libero Payton Schaefer. She has great court presence, was able to connect with her teammates, and was dependable when providing a first contact to get FC in system.
Bryce Hietpas – FC Elite 15 Black
Another athlete who was showing that she wasn’t afraid to be aggressive and swing was Bryce Hietpas. She is an outside hitter who time and time again provided a big swing where she could tool the block and create positive things for her side of the net. This team played fearless all weekend and was the only team to take a set off the eventual champion, MKE Sting 15 White.
Laina Kirsch Laina Kirsch 5'7" | S Badger | 2027 WI – MKE Sting 15 Silver
Butter hands! Kirsch was so key for her team and how she could provide them with a great set to terminate. For really good setters, it all starts with their feet and Kirsch could get her feet to the ball which allowed her to jump set, run a quick tempo, or back set. Sting 15 Silver won four matches in three sets to make their way to the championship. Talk about clutch performances when it counts!
Ashley Gagas – WI Flight 15 Black
This Wisconsin Flight team had a lot of great athletes all around and will be ones to keep tabs on throughout this club season. An attacker to have on the radar would be Ashley Gagas. She has plenty of length and showed that she could attack and score from any front row appearance. Gagas is currently a freshman at Stevens Point.
Claire Vanden Berg – I AM VBC 15 Black
So solid and dependable. Those are adjectives you want when talking about a libero and that was Claire Vanden Berg for I AM VBC 15 Black. She owned the backrow and was nails in serve receive and could anticipate well when things would get a little chaotic. Her athleticism and training was apparent because she had great platform awareness whether it was taking pace off a swing, serve receive, or putting up a second ball for an attacker.
Addison McDonald – NSVBC U15 Select Blue
McDonald was a crafty setter for NSVBC out of the Madison area where she is a 2027 prospect from Rio High School. She is a lefty setter who could put up a clean set for her attackers to terminate. She also showed solid defensive play and even saw a kick save to keep a play alive. This was a scrappy group.
Kendall Ritchie – NSVBC U15 Select Blue
Speaking of scrappy, that would be Kenall Ritchie of NSVBC where she was a standout as their libero. There were a lot of really good liberos in this field and Ritchie was one of them. She had the athleticism and scrappiness to keep plenty of rallies going and provide a spark for her team.
Amary Dione – I AM VBC 15 Black
Each year I AM VBC out of the North Shore Milwaukee area brings teams to Prep Dig Events, they keep getting better and better. This 15 Black team had athletes at every position and one of the standouts for this team was setter, Amary Dione. She was able to get her feet to the ball and really push the tempo for her side of the net. She was receiving the ball high and neutral where she was able to take it to one of her outsides or highly talented right sides.
Annabell Ebel – WI Flight 15 Black
Another 2027 prospect from SPASH is Annabell Ebel who was the libero for this WI Flight team. She has a lot of athleticism and grit where she was everywhere on the court. She definitely has a presence as a libero and was able to get this team in system. SPASH has some athletes to keep tabs on in the next couple of years where they could make a big difference in their program.
