Oklahoma Team Spotlight Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are one month and a half into the club season and we have seen a lot of volleyball already.&nbsp; Teams are solidifying their lineups to find the right mix to get into Qualifier season.&nbsp; Here are some teams and players who definitely are turning heads due to their play.&nbsp; This series will highlight some players who we have seen in person and we are adding to our list to watch this season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>Oklahoma Charge 15 UA</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not only did this awesome squad just go undefeated at the Redlands Rendezvous a few weeks ago, but they did it while playing up an age group in the 16 Open division.&nbsp; They ran through the field and didn't lose a single set on their way to the championship.&nbsp; The star of the show is [player_tooltip player_id='391123' first='Stella' last='Wishon'].&nbsp; The six foot two stud is in a league of her own on the volleyball court.&nbsp; Her offensive output is the number one reason why she is one of the best players in her grad class.&nbsp; Right side [player_tooltip player_id='748675' first='Olivia' last='Carter'] is another one to watch on this talented team.&nbsp; She is a blocking machine and can provide a lot of heat with her right arm.&nbsp; This team will be hard to beat with the ability to spread the ball from pin to pin so easily.&nbsp; Libero McKenzie Smith does a great job keeping this team in system in the back row.&nbsp; I like how disciplined she is keeping her posture throughout the entire play.&nbsp; There are not a lot of balls that fall near her zone.&nbsp; Setter [player_tooltip player_id='394209' first='Amelia' last='Mullen'] is a joy to watch as she battles for her squad.&nbsp; She uses her jump well to save balls that are near the net and also to jump set her attackers and help provide one on one situations.&nbsp; Middle [player_tooltip player_id='748672' first='Arielle' last='Yapi'] is a solid defender and is very active patrolling the net.&nbsp; She moves very well laterally and uses impeccable timing to slow down would-be scorers.&nbsp; I will be watching her very closely.&nbsp; Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='477448' first='Sophie' last='Payne'] is a big reason why this team is so tough to slow down.&nbsp; She is extremely athletic on the left side out of serve receive and also at the net.&nbsp; Her movement on the court looks like a seasoned veteran already at this young age. &nbsp;This team will make some serious waves in their region and you can expect them to qualify for nationals this year.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>Oklahoma Charge 16 UA</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming in second at the Redlands Rendezvous tournament earlier this month, they are on a roll so far this year.&nbsp; There are some serious players on this team who can play at a very high level.&nbsp; Setter [player_tooltip player_id='314473' first='Pierson' last='Smith'] is someone who turns heads with her ability to play the position.&nbsp; She is super smooth with her setter dump and it always catches the opposition off-guard.&nbsp; It either scores a point or gets them out of system to send a free ball.&nbsp; Her hands and posture are very deceptive when delivering it quickly to the other side of the net.&nbsp; Outside Miley Myers has a whip of an arm that can deliver the ball with a lightning quick pace on the left side.&nbsp; She uses a very fast approach to catch up to the quick tempo at which this team runs its outside set.&nbsp; Libero Sophia Devlin is someone that everyone should watch out for.&nbsp; She has the ball control and attitude that you want in a back row floor general.&nbsp; Right side [player_tooltip player_id='297088' first='Valyn' last='Donahoo'] is a solid option for this team to spread the attack with.&nbsp; As an attacker and blocker, she is long and touches very high to battle at the net.&nbsp; Outside hitter Emery Williams can bring the heat when needed as well.&nbsp; I like how she moves on the court and is always ready to receive the ball.&nbsp; This squad will be fun to watch as the season progresses, so stay tuned for more on them.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.&nbsp; If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:Michael@prepdig.com">Michael@prepdig.com</a>.&nbsp; Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.&nbsp; Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.&nbsp; Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Family!&nbsp; Don't be afraid to interact with us.&nbsp; We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments.&nbsp; Keep them coming!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
