This tournament breaks out into three divisions. The first division (black)mixes teams from the 16-18 year old age group. The blue division fills the lower age groups at 14-16 while the third division, the red is set aside for the 13-14 age group. Two of the top 18 teams, Paramount and Metro, are playing in a qualifier in Florida.
Last year Chapel Hill 17 in North Carolina won the Black Division. The Beach Elite 17 and 18 teams finished third, which was the highest finish for a Virginia/Maryland team. Metro 15 won the Blue Division with Blue Ridge 15 finishing in second place. Blue Ridge 14 won the Red Division.
Below is a list based on the rankings of the top players from the class of 2024 and 2025 who show as not committed. The Blue Ridge 17 team comprise four of the ten players on this list. Last year this team played in the black division and finished 13th.
Isabelle is the top ranked prospect in the class of 2025 that has yet to commit. It would not surprise me that she has multiple choices. What Division I team would ignore a 6’3″ setter who forms a devastating block on the right side. When she jump sets in the front row she can easily dump it over the blocks for a kill. She set Flint Hill to a 2023 VISAA state championship and Metro 17 recently won the Rock and Rumble tournament in Cleveland. In my opinion a franchise type player as she gains more experience.
Highlights
Taylor Meredith Taylor Meredith MB St. Catherines | 2024 State VA middle ( Richmond Volleyball Club ) – Taylor can dominate a game in the middle. She stood out as the main offensive force for a Saint Catherine’s team that worked their way to the semi-finals in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) state championship. She also plays basketball for her high school team. An extremely athletic player from the class of 2024. While she ranks 43 in the class of 2024 this could rise.
Sadee Gedse Sadee Gedse 5'6" | DS/L Oakton | 2025 State VA libero ( Paramount 17) – The top libero in the class of 2025 who has yet to commit, though only one libero ranks above her. She sits at number 14 in the rankings. A very emotional player who does all the things you want to see in a libero. She earned a spot on the first team in the Concorde District. Another player who uses her beach skills to enhance her indoor game. This past weekend Paramount finished second in the Volley by the James tournament.
Max Preps voted Ada their West Virginia player of the year. She plays for Musselman, one of the top high schools in the state. They lost in the finals of the state championship last year, but captured the state championship the previous two years. This year Ada led the team in kills (over 700) and blocks, while also finishing third in digs. She falls just 700 kills shy of the high school record. This past weekend Blue Ridge finished third in Volley by the James.

Berkeley Konrady Berkeley Konrady 6'1" | OH Millbrook | 2025 State VA outside ( Blue Ridge ) – Berkeley plays for Millbrook high school. While it was a rebuilding year for the Pioneers, Berkeley still earned a spot on the first team in Region 4D. At 6’1″ she brings height to the left side and combines with Ada to give Blue Ridge two lethal pins from the left side. She also has the ability to play six rotations. The Winchester Star voted her to their all area first team.
Simone moved from middle to left side for Riverside. For Paramount she has also moved from middle to the right side. When she played middle she did not have to worry about the higher sets. With more repetitions at the outside she will get used to the timing. One advantage with her middle play experience is her ability to come in from the outside and hit quicks in the middle, keeping the opposition off balance.

Ava made the first team for the Class 3 all state team as an outside hitter. She also won player of the year honors for her region (class 3d) and the Northern Virginia Daily voted her co-player of the year. It was her first year hitting outside for her high school after playing middle the previous year. She will return to middle when playing for Blue Ridge . Last year they set her “twos” in the middle and she was difficult to stop. This year they may quicken the pace. Either way Ava finds the open court hitting to the right or left.

Her game is beach. That beach play helps her to cover the court on the hard surface. A fun player to watch. My guess is that she will play beach for a college team but her libero play is worthy of indoor action (Edit – she has committed to North Alabama for beach). She just has a sense for the game, as many of these Blue Ridge players acquire from their beach experience.
While in the class of 2024 she plays down for the 17 team. It seems her outside play has led this group to the nationals the last three years. While her 5’9″ height is considered small for a front row player she hits the ball as hard as anyone. A Division III school or smaller Division I might find her skills attractive. She also plays a solid back row with the ability to attack.

Sarah transferred to Holy Cross last year and combined with Emerson Sellman Emerson Sellman 6’4″ | OH Academy of Holy Cross | 2024 State #5 Nation VA at the pins to win the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) for the Tartans. She also plays a solid back row with a serve that can rifle through the seams. Metro normally uses her for her back row play but when she is in a zone she is tough to stop in the front row.

Two younger teams worth watching in the 16-18 age group are Metro 16 and Paramount 16. Metro just returned from winning the Rock and Rumble tournament in Cleveland. Paramount struggled a bit in the Volley by the James but with improved passing they could be a handful.
For Metro 16 they have two outsides in the 6’4″ Bryah Breaux Bryah Breaux 6'4" | OH Garrison Forest | 2026 State VA and the 6’3″ Morgan Williams Morgan Williams 6'4" | OH Lake Braddock | 2026 State VA . Their best outside may be the 5’10” Caydence Doolan Caydence Doolan 5'11" | OH North Hagerstown | 2026 State VA , who led North Hagerstown to the Class 3 Maryland State Championship. Another player getting a lot of buzz is the 6’2″ Nadiya Johnson Nadiya Johnson 6'2" | RS North Point | 2026 State VA , who also brings an impressive vertical with that height. This may be one of the more talented Metro teams put together in their club history.
Paramount 16 has recruited a bunch of new talent. It may take them some time playing together before they start to click. Parker Sutherland Parker Sutherland 6'3" | MB Hedgesville | 2026 State VA at 6’2″ could be the most dominating middle from the class. Eden Tardy Eden Tardy 5'10" | OH Quince Orchard | 2026 State VA and Morgan Reeves Morgan Reeves 5'10" | OH St. Johns | 2026 State VA are dynamic outsides. Lots of offensive potential with this group. The key for them is consistent passing to allow them to set the middles.
