Our team feature on the ASICS Presidents’ Day Classic alluded to our mission to comb through as much film as possible from last week’s Omaha outing. We’ve started that process with the 2026s, a group that is still coming into focus early this club season.
So, let’s roll out another wave of 2026 attackers from Nebraska’s big club spectacle of the holiday weekend.
Wohlgemuth remains a staple of Nebraska ONE 16 Black’s frontcourt. She has an extensive background playing on both pins but is primarily a left side for her championship-winning club team. This ensures that Wohlgemuth gets the greatest volume of swings possible, and she’ll terminate on a lot of them. 16 Black boasts a lot of offensive balance, but expect Wohlgemuth to lead the way in tight situations. That was a difference-maker in Omaha.
We’re thrilled to see Talbott back in the Nebraska ONE lineup in 2024. She’s making an injury comeback this year and is already back to crushing balls on the right side. Talbott also brings the kind of passing prowess you might not expect to see from an opposite. This allows her to influence matches even if she’s not in the front row. That’s the true team-first spirit that yielded a 16 Open championship at the Presidents’ Day Classic.
Beethe returns to the club stage after landing in the top-five of our initial 2026 rankings. She’s backing up that placement with a mixture of reach and physicality that few players can match. The Johnson County Central star brought plenty of heat from the outside for Nebraska Juniors 16 Black against talented regional competitors. She is also exhibiting growth at working off the block and finding open seams in the defense. Early-season momentum is already building.
Schram is clearly ready to climb the 2026 ladder. She helped Omaha Skutt Catholic win a title last fall and is showing her versatility with Nebraska Juniors 16 Black this spring. We’ve known about Schram’s ability to terminate on the right side, but most of her reps at the Presidents’ Day Classic came at the other pin. No matter where you put Schram, she will find a way to make a positive influence.
Get ready for more monster numbers from Bowen this year. She is becoming VCNebraska 16 Black’s hard-hitting opposite who will score when the team needs it most. Better yet, her length generates good block touches against opposing left sides, allowing 16 Black to set up its other hitters. An impressive runner-up finish at the Presidents’ Day Classic will propel Bowen and 16 Black toward repeated success in 2024.
Kaylee Wray

River City Jrs is entering the spotlight in this one, and this is just the start. Wray has the unique ability to play as a frontcourt opposite or slot into a defensive specialist role for 16 Navy. Her tough serving ensures that Wray will get on the court in some way. This was apparent in Omaha, as Wray brought some of the intensity that powered River City Jrs to a 7-1 overall record.

We have a lot of 2026 watch list additions to make after combing through all the film from Omaha. Furstenau could be one of those new names after her impactful performance with Banzai VBC 16 Select. She was among the team’s most physical blockers last week and was frequently available as a transition attacker. Banzai VBC keeps finding gems that will land in our player database before long.
Nienaber exemplifies the brand of smart, low-error volleyball that makes Premier Nebraska 16 Silver so successful. She’s a reliable out-of-system outlet who can chisel around any block to find her kills. Nienaber has also developed a lethal high-hands shot that puts the ball beyond the reach of backcourt defenders. Combine that with her strong serving skills and you have an all-around threat that helps 16 Silver operate.
Highlights
We have fond memories of watching Club Legacy 15 Alpha compete at last year’s Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. That group is now at the 16s level, but their ceiling remains as high as ever. Milbourn elevated 16 Alpha’s left-side offense en route to six-straight wins in Omaha. This extraordinary output should bring Milbourn back into the conversation during qualifiers and regional outings. Stay tuned.
