I plan on scouting the 16s Power League play on Sunday morning. Here is a look at eight prospects I look forward to seeing play during club action.
Kya Behr Kya Behr 5'9" | S Great Bend | 2027 State KS , 5’9”, S/DS, Great Bend, ’27 ( Fight Club 16-1)
Behr is a setter I have heard a bunch about. She is playing up a level for Fight Club . Behr finished her freshman season with a total of 589 assists in 89 sets played. She is a six-rotation player who also collected 309 digs and 159 kills for the Panthers.
Isabella (Bella) Cook Isabella (Bella) Cook 6'1" | MB Campus | 2027 State KS , 6’1”, MH, Campus, ’27 ( Fight Club 16-1)
Cook also plays with Fight Club and is also playing up a level. She has a solid net front presence racking up 208 kills and 104 total blocks in 80 sets played for Campus. Scouts and coaches always look for tall talent and Cook fits that profile.
Ella Florez Ella Florez 5'9" | S Mill Valley | 2026 State KS , 5’9”, S, Mill Valley, ’26 (Pohaku 16-1) Pictured Above
I saw Florez set in the state championship tournament and look forward to seeing her play up close in the club environment. She recorded 943 assists for the Jaguars as a sophomore. She is at the top of the 2026 Prep Dig rankings and has a bright future.
Reese Huscher Reese Huscher 5'8" | OH Hayden | 2026 State KS , 5’8”, OH/DS, Hayden, ’26 (Topeka Saints 16-1)
I scouted the Hayden Wildcats a couple of times last fall and now I want to see how Huscher performs with the elite Power League talent. I have also seen her play basketball this season. She is a two-way player who can hit and dig. She finished her sophomore season with 223 kills, 276 digs, and 325 serve receptions. She is at the point where she needs to show off which sport and at which position she has the best prospects to play.
Stella Kelly Stella Kelly 5'9" | S Washburn Rural | 2026 State KS , 5’9”, S/RS, Washburn Rural, ’26 (Topeka Saints 16-1)
Kelly shared time as a setter last season for the Junior Blues. She has solid setting technique and finished with 389 total assists as a sophomore. The Saints have plenty of weapons that can hit, so I am excited to see how she distributes the ball against elite competition.
Chloe Kmiecik Chloe Kmiecik 6'1" | MB De Soto | 2026 State KS , 6’2”, MH, De Soto, ’26 ( KC Power 16-1)
De Soto was a team that I did not get the chance to see last fall, so she is a prospect I will watch closely on Sunday. Her numbers as a sophomore were not eye-popping, but she did contribute to the program with 167 kills and 59 blocks.
Avery Sands Avery Sands 5'7" | OH Lansing | 2026 State KS , 5’7”, OH/RS, Lansing, ‘26 ( Dynasty 16-1)
I am very familiar with Sands’ game and saw her play multiple times for Lansing last fall. She was a role player on a deep team last fall. I want to see how the Dynasty squad utilizes her skills and if she can take over a match at the Power League level. Sands collected 278 digs and 271 kills during her sophomore campaign.
Jade Xu Jade Xu 6'0" | OH Emporia | 2026 State KS , 6’1”, OH, Emporia, ’26 ( KC Power 16-1)
When I worked at Emporia State in 2013-2014 Xu was a tiny tot who hung around the Hornets’ volleyball squad. Now she is coming off a sophomore season with 344 kills and 252 digs with the Emporia Spartans. I missed Emporia play last fall, so I hope she has a solid match for the Power.
