Continue ReadingKela Williams- 2027 LiberornWilliams has been crucial playing up an age division for an RVC 16 Paloa team that has a grueling and competitive schedule. She is a libero that will be particularly valuable as the rules on double contacts change, she is a terrific setter already and coaches will be confident in having her set with her hands from anywhere on the court. Williams has the quickness and feel for the game to get her feet to the ball and deliver accurately to either pin. She makes great reads on opposing hitters, and anticipates off-speed with confidence. The RVC squad will be competing in the 16 Open Division at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier at the end of March, followed by the Salt Lake City Showdown Qualifier two weeks later.
The 2027 prospect from South Kitsap plays for Dakine 15 Surf, and her squad faced off against PJVBC 15 National at the PSR Power League recently. Lauifi plays extremely hard, working to cover her attackers, and reach any second ball to deliver accurate sets from her platform. She dialed in the hard wrist away angle swing that the Puyallup Juniors outsides were using to score- making the needed to adjustments to keep the ball off the floor. Lauifi has the feel for putting the opposing team at a disadvantage when she has to send over a free ball, making them work hard even when they think its an easy free-ball.

Playing opposite the Dakine 15’s at Power League, Puyallup Juniors 15’s and their libero Samantha Pirillis Samantha Pirillis 6’7″ | DS/L Puyallup | 2027 State WA were up to the challenge. PJVBC rallied to take the second set 29-27, and closed Dakine 15 out in the third 15-11. The steady Pirillis has great reactions in the back row, making a diving save to keep the second game alive down 23-24, and racking up several highlight digs to help PJVBC finish it off. The Lake Stevens prospect and her team will be at PNQ and the Salt Lake City Showdown chasing a bid in 15 American.

Beck and her Shockwave 16 team went to the President’s Day Classic in St. louis and finished 3rd overall in the 16 Premier Division. The libero from Kamiakin is playing up a year and she displayed her smooth footwork, excellent platform and ability to set the second ball inside and off the net to give her attackers options out of system. Beck plays the line tremendously, she sets her feet and is able to handle hard swings and adjust to tips to the middle. Her platform and feet work in unison in serve receive, Shockwave was at their best when they were able to run the middle to Aliyah Malone Aliyah Malone 5’9″ | MB River View | 2025 State WA and Makiya Woodruff Makiya Woodruff 5’8″ | MB Richland | 2026 State WA ; Beck’s work as a passer was essential to the the teams excellent finish.

No Limits 17 had a nice run in the recent NWPL in Auburn. Strong played a big part playing up in age, her solid passing and tremendous work from the service line helped her squad post a 3-3 record against competitive teams. One thing to avoid is loading up as an attacker and trying to hit a rocket through Strong at the libero. She is too solid, tough and skilled to let a big swing throw her off her game. The West Valley Yakima 2027 prospect plays low to the ground, and can handle dive after dive for tips and keep coming back for more.
CPA 15 Benson is a team that is starting to put together the pieces, Hickman out of Ridgeline in the Spokane Valley has settled in nicely to the libero role. She works her platform angles in serve receive to handle difficult chances, and is developing a sense of working out from behind her blockers. Hickman has the quick hands and reactions to handle swings and deflections above her shoulders, she helped her squad to a second place finish to the CPA 16’s in last weekends Evergreen Region Power League.
