Continue ReadingThe outside hitters are talented in the class of 2027, taking 5 of the top 12 spots in our rankings update. There are solid new additions to both the rankings and the 2027 Watchlist, and we expect more to emerge as the club season shifts into overdrive in April and through the (very!) long grind to Nationals in June/July. From six-rotation all-around wonders to big-swinging flamethrowers, the pins in the class of 2027 have skills to spare.

Continue ReadingPeebles is cranking it up to another level in the first few months of the club season. The WVBA 16 Adidas outside moved up to #5 overall for the state, racking up kills against tough competition with her smooth and explosive swing. Peebles does her work early with her footwork, getting off the net in transition smoothly with minimal wasted steps. Her excellent approach keeps the ball in front, and she attacks it at a high point making her difficult to stop.
Highlights
Gourley has a heavy arm swing, she has brought the boom down on several defenders already this season. The Athena 15 Gold outside from Columbia River High School is the #6 OH in the 2027 rankings update. Gourley is very skilled at finding the line, and is never afraid to rocket a ball of the block to score. Her platform is strong in serve receive, and her continued growth as a defender in the back row gives her an option to be a scorer from the pipe. Gourley will travel with her Athena team to the Salt Lake City Showdown and the Far Westerns in April before heading to Triple Crown West Coast Invite in late May.
Fobi is an athletic pin, and her Aspire NW team will find her running plays down the middle and on the outside to take advantage of the 2027 prospects vision and scoring. The Kings Way Christian outside is a multi-sport athlete, and her speed and quickness on the court are fun to watch. She has a variety of shots that compliment her power arm, Fobi will push a flat accurate tip to the deep corner that has been scoring this season.
McIntosh has an easy, fluid swing and is able to hang and deliver accurate swings deep into the corners to score. The Sudden Impact 15 Typhoon prospect is ranked as the #27 overall player in the current rankings. McIntosh is able to adjust and change her arm angles on tough sets and still deliver a swing with enough pace to pressure defenders. Her Typhoon team will compete in the Pacific Northwest Qualifier in Spokane, testing themselves in the 15 Open Division.
Gonzalez is displaying her versatility, working in the middle position for her Blue Royals team after posting monster numbers on the outside for Everett during school ball. The # 7 rankled outside, Gonzalez has a powerful swing, and can attack from either pin or the back row. Playing in the middle this club season, she is working smart tips to open spots into her game, finding ways to score besides her crushing swing.
Guardipee is getting a chance to shine on both the outside and in the middle for PSVBA 15 Legacy. She has a snap on her attacks and get up off the floor quickly, terminating before the block is set up. The 2027 out of Puyallup High School has great energy on the court and is a sneaky good athlete. Guardipee will be with her team at PNQ, Emerald City over Memorial Day and will finish up at the USAV GJNC in early July.
THREE RIGHT SIDES TO KNOW!
Two right sides— Peyton Fredrick Peyton Fredrick 6'2" | RS Emerald Ridge | 2027 WA and Maddy Conner Maddy Conner 6'2" | RS Seattle Prep | 2027 State WA — are ranked in the top three of the class, but other prospects are swinging away from the opposite. Here are three more names to know!
Mia Young Mia Young 5'8" | RS Kamiakin | 2027 State WA – Shockwave Volleyball Club . Young is a terrific six-rotation right side, something you don’t always see. She makes it work with smart attacks, gritty defense, and smooth passing, and she has the lefty hammer ready to unload when needed.
Savannah Browning Savannah Browning 6'0" | RS South Kitsap | 2027 State WA – DaKine Volleyball Club . The Dakine 15 Surf right-side can also play the setter spot; we like her length and explosive lefty swing as an attacker. She jumped to #34 in the rankings after several good outings early in the club season.
Kaelani Adams Kaelani Adams 5'9" | RS North Thurston | 2027 WA — Oly Reign Volleyball Club . Adams is a new addition to the rankings. The North Thurston attacker can swing from either pin. She has a strong, accurate arm swing and smartly works the deep corners to rack up kills.
