Northeast Qualifier – Five Texas Setters to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another week, another National Qualifier. This is what life looks like at this point of the club season and this weekend's destination for teams from around the country will be Philadelphia, where the first stage of the Northeast Qualifier will take place from Friday to Sunday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event will feature five divisions (17 Open, 18 American, 18 Liberty, 18 Open and 18 USA) and as many as 219 teams will be in action competing for spots at the 2024 USA Volleyball Girls National Championship.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state of Texas will be represented in each of the five divisions as 29 teams will make the trip to Pennsylvania this weekend and will take the days leading to the event to highlight some of the players from the Lone Star State that will be on the court. She's a top-tier setter in her class in the state of Texas and her talent on the ball elevates her team's offense significantly. Brown is extremely technical and you can notice that in each step of her setting routine as she uses her excellent footwork to get on the ball and her great touch to send the ball to the desired location. She's a very complete player, who helps her team with more than her setting abilities. Mauldin has good size, standing at 5'10u0022, and has a solid presence at the net, but is also very mobile and efficient when playing defense. She has good precision with her sets and does a very good job of using her height to accelerate the game. She's very creative with the way she runs the team's offense and her tremendous quality on the ball opens up all sorts of possibilities for her in that area of the game. Another thing I love about Warren's game is how well she uses her impressive athletic tools to compensate for her limited size. The top-ranked player in her position in her age group in our Class of 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, she's playing one age group up and is still a difference-maker for her team. Musgrove checks all the boxes when you think of an elite setter as she has the size, the skills and the mental solidness to do everything she's asked on the court and more. Her setting is very smooth and she thrives by keeping all her hitters involved - which is not a big challenge considering the high level of her offensive options with 18 Royal. Crowson is very complete and has the ability to help her team in a variety of ways. Her sets are always precise and well-thought as she has a great feel for the game and that shows in her distribution.
