Crowson and her HJV 18 Elite team will play in the 18 Open division. She splits playing time with Taryn Gilreath Taryn Gilreath 6'0" | S Cy Ranch | 2024 State TX and the two will probably form one of the top setter duos in the division. Crowson is very complete and has the ability to help her team in a variety of ways. Her sets are always precise and well-thought as she has a great feel for the game and that shows in her distribution. Crowson has good size and is very effective at the net too, but is probably even more valuable on the backcourt, serving tough and playing great defense.

Playing a dual role of setter and outside hitter for Brenham, Crowson is probably one of the very few players in the state to have tallied more than 100 kills and assists already. She has always been an extremely solid playmaker for the Cubettes and this year will have an added offensive responsibility with the graduation of star outside hitter Brooke Bentke. Crowson is currently at 102 kills and 162 assists for the season and has also produced 70 digs and 17 aces across 31 sets. She was on fire against Katy Taylor last week, leaving the court with 14 kills, 19 assists and nine digs, jus one defensive action away from a triple double.

Crowson is a player who can do it all on the court and that allows her to have multiple roles with her teams and play different positions. With HJV 17 Elite, she’s typically a pure setter, possibly the best option for her skill set. She’s taller than most players in the position, but moves really well on the court and understands the game better than most. She has a great touch on the ball and is capable of remaining accurate with her locations no matter what. She has made a big impact while splitting her time between setting and hitting during the last high school season with Brenham and I’ve also seen her play great defense and serve tough in the past.

The long and technical setter plays a lot of different roles for Brenham and helps the team in more than one way. Crowson has excellent ball-handling skills and does a great job with her ball distribution, using all of her hitters. She’s also an important offensive piece, hitting when at the net, and had to step up that area of her game while Bentke was out. The 6’1″ Crowson also has a very productive floating serve and plays very good defense.

Originally a setter, Crowson had to wear a lot of different hats to help the team because of Bentke’s absence. She did a very good job with her distribution, using all of her hitters, and also scored a lot of points of her own with her well-diversified offense. Crowson also had good moments when playing defense and with her serving and she led the team’s comeback to win the third set.
