The 2027 Player Rankings were updated last week, making it a good time for our Prospect Roulette.

Here's how it works: I'll pop up a random number generator that includes the 20 players in the 2027 rankings. I'll generate four numbers and the four that come up will be the ranking of the player. I'll then spotlight those players in the article to help give them some more attention. I will then take six random numbers from the over 100 Watch List prospects. Their number is where they are alphabetically in the Watch List.

Let's see who has the lucky numbers for this month's edition:

1. [player_tooltip player_id='454351' first='Mallory' last='Johnson'], DS/L Byron Center/FaR Out

Johnson has managed to establish herself as the top-ranked player in a very talented 2027 crop. She's faced the best hitters of all ages already and has proven she can play at a high level against them. Johnson is very calm and collected, with picture-perfect form.

10. [player_tooltip player_id='493481' first='Camille' last='Robinson'], MH/OH Harper Creek/Midwest Select

Robinson is able to play anywhere along the net and her explosiveness stands out right away. Along with her ability to play above the net, her form is very smooth and leads to a lot of consistent finishes. While her offense is already at a high level, her defensive play is improving as well.

17. [player_tooltip player_id='442228' first='Avery' last='Thorp'], MH Plainwell/FaR Out

A 6'1” middle with a lot of upside, Thorp is someone that could garner more national attention in the years ahead. Thorp shows a compact swing, but it generates a lot of power and works through blocking well. Defensively, Thorp is an aggressive blocker in her own right and is able to react quickly at the net.

7. [player_tooltip player_id='442976' first='Cynthia' last='Ockerman'], MH Brighton/Legacy

Another middle that is making big waves, Ockerman is hard to contain as a 6'3 athletic talent. Her length allows her to have the advantage over most opposing blockers, but when you mix in her footwork and arm speed, she's nearly unstoppable.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='490037' first='Hadley' last='Humphrey'], S TC Central/Northshore

Humphrey is playing up in competition this club season, which gives her a chance to make some big strides heading into the fall. She's hitting all the locations and working some really quick connections with her middles. Her pace of play and awareness have been elevated, which puts her on the radar for a breakout year.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='450415' first='Leah' last='Green'], OH Country Day/Legacy

Green shows a lot of potential, as she can play the middle or the outside. Green sees the play well and makes sure to put a good swing on the ball in most instances. There's still room to dial up a little more tempo, but she's got a great foundation to build on these next few years.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='481385' first='Allison' last='Musial'], OH/DS Grand Haven/MVA

Musial moves well around the court and puts a lot of emphasis on improving her serve receive and passing. As a weapon at the net, Musial has a strong follow through that leads to a lot of power and speed on her attacks. She can really challenges defenses and provide a momentum-shifting kill.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'], OH/MH South Lyon/Dynamite

Duncan can play anywhere along the net and her footwork and awareness allow her to be a consistent offensive force. Duncan stays patient with the ball and make sure she puts solid contact on each swing. Her back-row attacks also have proven to be able to score at a strong rate.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='442985' first='Josie' last='Seets'], OH/RS Clarkston/Legacy

Seets is a 6-foot outside that has a high ceiling. She's very agile and can move well along the net. She's shown the ability to terminate from both pins and from the middle. Her defensive game keeps getting better as well. Consistency has been key, which is a great foundation to build on.

WL [player_tooltip player_id='470701' first='Zoey' last='Kapeller'], DS/L OLSM/High Performance

Kapeller has been all over the floor for High Performance and is picking up big dig numbers. She's got a long wingspan, which allows her to cover a lot of ground. She combines that with quick reaction time and good footwork to be one of the more promising defenders in the class.
