For some it is a stepping stone to the next level while other are preparing for a whole new story line. These seniors showed up to the Prep Dig Madness in Miltown and put on a real show. We saw some great athletes this weekend at the Milwaukee Sting Center and it’s clear they have a bright future ahead.
As a 5’6 setter Distad took on a really big block at the net time and time again and won using a sly setter dump at just the right time. She sees the court extremely well and makes smart choices with her set selection. Distad has a very mature style of play as a strong athlete and competitor that refuses to lose.
Burr is a force at the net whether it is offensively or defensively. She does a great job ckosing the block and making her defenders job so much easier. Burr can terminate from anywhere along the net and I love seeing her take a rip from either pin.
Prusko is quick off the ground and moves seamlessly along the net to close blocks. She has fast footwork and does a great job making herself available. Prusko patrols the net and won’t let any feeble attempts cross. I really love her speed and ability to consistently have her arm up early ready to swing.
Pedretti targets the deep cross corner and then on the very next swings executes deep down the line. Her ability to terminate came in at crucial moments during the Madness. Pedretti can really elevate and makes solid contact with the ball and place a ton of different shots.
Ploder has a lot of length up at the next and she gets in the air quickly. She will use finesse and fire the next ball to the deep corners or work angles. Ploder is a leader by action on the court and her high contact point is hard to stop.
Koepke created fireworks with Caledonia in November and I love seeing that she isn’t slowing down. She is an explosive jumper but then follows that with a dynamic swing. Koepke moves so fluently and is a consistent six-rotation outside.
Ziegler is power through and through. The first time I saw her play she was a lengthy and had technique. Now she has added strength and speed to her game making her a force. She’s added passing and defense to her talents and it’s made her a huge asset for the next level Ziegler also doesn’t flinch one bit when a block is put up in front of her.
