The Washington athletes were joined by players from across the country, including athletes from Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. Here is a closer look at several of the players who participated.
Foote and her Dakine 17 Surf squad were well represented at the Showcase with multiple players participating, and finished the tournament on a win taking home a victory in the Bronze Bracket and ending the weekend with a bracket championship. Foote is a 2025 setter with sweet hands who is not afraid to reverse the flow of the offense and makes smart decisions on the fly. Dakine finished with a 4-4 record in the USA Division, and Foote played tough defense in a 3 set victory over CPA 17 Drew to cap off the run at Salt Lake.

Gant was named one of the top performers at the Showcase, the Shockwave setter is a talented dual threat who takes swings from the right side when she isn’t dishing out assists to her attackers. The sophomore from Southridge led her Shockwave 16 team to a 6-2 overall record in the 16 Freedom Division, good for a 5th place finish. The team dropped a three set battle to Katy United 16 Adidas in the Gold bracket 21-25, 25-22, 12-15. Gant does her work early as a setter, getting her feet to the ball and aligning herself with the pin. As a right side attacker she has excellent bounce off the floor and is willing to cut an angle shot or pound a kill down the line.

A 2026 setter from Ferris High School in Spokane, Jacobson and her Club South 16 Carolina team finished 3-4 in the 16 USA Division. Club South faced off against a very difficult day 1 pool that included T-Street, Academy and Bonneville squads. The team and Jacobson rallied on day two rattling off three wins in a row, before dropping a three set thriller to Aspire NW 16 Empire in Bracket play. At 5’9”, Jacobson is effective in the 5-1 offense, showing a creative streak as an attacker and setter- finding ways to score or find her hitters from out of system. Defensively she is a standout, handling driven swings down the line and making acrobatic saves on off-speed shots and tips. Jacobson was out for the beginning of the school season for Ferris, when she returned the Saxons made a late season run to the State 3A Tournament. Jacobson was a meaningful part of that turnaround, helping the Saxons win a “play in” game as the 20th seed, and battling Lake Washington and Seattle Prep in very competitive matches.

Togia teams with Foote in the 6-2 for Dakine 17, giving the team two extremely talented distributors. We like the added deception and timeliness Togia is showing in the setter attack game, she caught other teams at the perfect times to score easy points. Her ability to read the game is one of her key strengths, she makes good decisions and is able to run through tips and set Dakine up for quality transition swings when she is out of the play. Togia is a strong athlete, she is able to push the ball easily to the pin on the run, and when she goes to the floor for a dig she pops the ball up with enough height for her team to make a play. Countless players will make that same move to the floor to make a dig, and the ball comes off unplayable- Togia gives it a chance!

The 5’10” Riggs is a 2026 prospect who plays her school ball at Corvallis High in Oregon, and for G3 Volleyball during the club season. G3 VB 16-1 posted a 5-2 record at the Showdown and finished in 9th place playing in the 16 Liberty Division. Riggs plays with strong hands and solid location setting the ball, her plus height gives her a high release point on her sets. Defensively she handles swings with her hands regularly, she doesn’t allow many to rip through. Riggs has a great connection with MB Avery Smith, finding her from off the net and trusting smith to deliver on sets coming at her from difficult angles.
Abigail Nachman | McCall-Donnelly (ID) | Idaho Crush | 2026
Nachman plays for Idaho Crush 16-Frye, and the setter from McCall has terrific energy and showed quick feet in Salt Lake City. Crush rallied for a come-from-behind win over T-Street 16 Grace; Nachman delivered a timely setter dump kill and found her attackers for quality swings in the match to help the effort. She does a solid job getting to the second ball playing in the 6-2, and in the third set against T-Street, she found her middle again for the final point in a hard-fought three-set win.
