Class of 2026 State Rankings Players to Know: Setters

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Dig Texas State Rankings were updated last month in a moment that was long expected for volleyball prospects in the Lone Star State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>More than moving players up and down in a list, the rankings update offers us an opportunity to paint a more realistic picture of the current scenario in Texas and highlight the prospects who experienced significant development over the last few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The process of updating the rankings also gives us, Prep Dig scouts, the perfect excuse to learn more and more about the players, be it by attending matches or tournaments in person or researching online, and now with the list released, it's time we share some of our findings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the next few weeks, I'll go over the rankings, highlighting some players in each class. She made a big leap in the last update and that makes justice to her game, which has no apparent holes and a lot to like. Whitmire is among the tallest setters in her age group, but that doesn't affect her mobility at all. Her playmaking is also elite, thanks to her smooth release, her intelligent distribution and her ability to connect with every hitter seamlessly. Back at setter this season, she's been running her team's offense with great efficiency, thanks to her high volleyball IQ, her precision and consistency. She first emerged last year and has only gotten better since then, improving on the things she already well and adding new elements to her game. The biggest growth has probably happened with her maturity and her ability to read and understand the game, which led her to join HJV's 18s team for the age group National Championship a few weeks ago. Her playmaking is excellent, as she likes to run a fast-paced offense and does it very efficiently, while also keeping all her hitters involved.
