The first ever publishing of our 2027 State Ranking List is here!!! We have listed the top 60 players in the state of California. We have also added so many players on our official Watch List also. We have been watching the 2027 class very closely throughout the entire high school and club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone's recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be listed in the rankings due to their individual performances.

Please officially welcome Miss Matavao to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the best overall player according to our class of 2027 Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Orange Lutheran High School and for the Forza1 North volleyball club program. All of us at Prep Dig have been in awe of this young lady since we have watched her over the last year and a half or so. When we were deciding who the number one player in the age group was, we took a lot of things into consideration and in every category, Westley's name kept popping up at the top of the list. Her frame and athleticism are exactly what college recruiters are looking for and I don't think she is done growing. Her game shows the total package in ball control. Every skill set in the game has prime technique that allows her to aim the ball exactly where she wants it to go. From the service line, she is pinpoint accurate and doesn't succumb to pressure. In the back row, she is able to cover a lot of ground laterally and extend exactly where needed in order to keep the ball off of the floor. On the offensive end, her ability to swing with both power and finesse are second to none. She is able to find holes in the block and thread the needle with precision in order to score. Speaking of scoring, she rattles off kills in a hurry and pads her stats in every match. This kind of production every time she steps on the floor is why we hold her in high regard. Not only is she a great player, but when you watch her play up an age group, you can see just how determined she is to attain her goals. We are very excited to have her on our website. Please help us congratulate her on earning the top spot on our State Ranking List for her grad class.

[player_tooltip player_id='500618' first='Ireland' last='Real'] [2027] 6-4 Outside (HS: Santa Margarita/Club: WAVE/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Please officially welcome Miss Real to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 2nd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Santa Margarita High School and also the WAVE volleyball club program. It was extremely difficult to select where the top players in this class would be ranked due to their amazing play that we have seen. Ireland was no exception as she has been one of the most dominant players in the 15's age group this season. She could easily be playing up an age group like a few other top freshman, but is hands down, the best in her true age group. Having the prototypical height and quickness that all college recruiters want in a terminating left side attacker, Miss Real has been the talk of the town with many top schools. Every single time that I went by her court this season, you could see everyone flocking to her court in order to see if she is the real deal or not. It didn't matter who she went up against, no one could stop her. You can only hope to contain her and slow her down a little. What is amazing about her play, is how she swings with such a violent downward force on every attack. The volleyball is absolutely obliterated when there is a split in the block or a timing issue from the defender. Defensively, I love that WAVE is using her in the back row while she is finding her rhythm. This is going to pay off big time for her four years from now as she plays against the best of the best in college. While most taller players are not that great at showcasing athleticism while extending laterally in the back row, Miss Real uses her height to her advantage and stays low in order to do it. It will be very difficult to keep her at the number two spot for long if she continues to excel and get better and better. She will be making her case for the top spot in the near future. Stay tuned for more on her. In the meantime, please help us congratulate her on earning a top spot in our prestigious State Rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='533581' first='Kalea' last='Lee'] [2027] 5-10 Setter (HS: Cathedral Catholic/Club: WAVE/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Please officially welcome Miss Lee to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 3rd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Cathedral Catholic High School and also the WAVE volleyball club program. I was first introduced to Kalea earlier this season while scouting for the 17's age group, when I thought she was a junior like her teammates. Yup, that's right. She is playing up TWO age groups in the Open division and dominating. Her team is one fo the best team's in the southern California region and have played a daunting schedule this year. What I like about her play is how she is not fazed at all by young women who are two years older than her. She is not fazed at all at the pace of the game. As a matter of fact, I think it made her play harder and better. Her ability to deliver the ball exactly where she wants it to go is astounding and admirable. She is a flat out sniper with the ball in her hands. There is not a set that she cannot hit the bullseye over and over again with. The ball comes out of her hands so smoothly and quick which tell me everything I need to know about her attention to detail. I like how she is able to push the ball to the pins with ease from any location with her quick release and upper body strength. Her back set truly stands out, especially when the pass makes her move toward the left side of the court. We are going to keep our eye on her closely for the foreseeable future. Please help us congratulate her on earning a top spot in our State Ranking List.
