Westley Matavao is another athlete I saw play as an 8th grader at USAV Nationals in Chicago back in 2023.  Now she is one of the top players in the country.  She will stay close to home and play for UCLA where she brings an all around game to the table.  She can serve receive, pass, and her explosiveness is what sets her apart.  When you hear her make hand contact it just sounds different.  She spent time with the U19 National team this summer where many of these top athletes did.  Ranking these top outside hitters is splitting hairs.  She will be in action this weekend at Triple Crown for Forza 1 North 17 One.

Westley Matavao Westley Matavao 6'0" | OH Mater Dei | 2027 State #4 Nation CA ‘s preparation for Triple Crown is intentional and holistic. She shared that she is preparing every day through prayer, workouts, recovery, and rest, while staying disciplined with nutrition and focused training. On the court, she is most excited to showcase her hitting, while keeping her goals simple and competitive, winning and passing consistently. Her advice reflects maturity beyond her years, emphasizing the importance of sleep, hydration, and recovery. Westley also shared that journaling and listening to 90’s music helps her stay grounded and mentally prepared, while remembering to enjoy the experience with her team.
